@scoot I've decided to use my jot for photoshop since I have no skill in drawing whatsoever
-
@egg fair enough I have no Photoshop whatsoever
-
@scoot I hope things progress and you become better! ^^
-
@egg Thank you :)
-
@scoot Quick, draw me some furries!
-
@ceruleanspark You know, I've been meaning to ask you. Recently I've started getting curious about the furry community (what it's all about, how it's done, etc) but I didn't know how to go about learning about it. I figured you were a part of that sorta thing but I wasn't sure. >.<
-
@scoot Hey hey hey r u there
-
@scoot wow ok guess i'll just go 2 sleep then :-/
-
@xeleanorxrigbyx It tends to mean different things to different people. To paint with extremely broad strokes, furry implies an interest, at some level, in anthropmorphic (or sometimes feral) characters. To some people, furry is a pseudo-lifestyle. They tend to think of themselves AS their characters, and habitually use linguistic substitutions much the same way as the pony fandom. Some of these people are more spiritual about it, with real soul searching going into their fursonas, most aren't though. Some people just find anthros (and yes, ferals) more attractive than conventional human characters either in terms of design or available RP scenarios, or inevitably, more sexually attractive. To some people, it's an interest in what is losely termed "Furry literature" which is all over the webcomics scene and has recently experienced a resurgance with the advent of easily available on-demand publishing, and other people really only hang out for the convention scene.
-
@ceruleanspark Interesting. I've always sorta thought antro characters were pretty cool. I have seen some of the people who just completely take over the role of their characters, but I guess that happens in a lot of fandom sort of things. Can't say I have any sexual attraction to the whole furry thing, but it's chill if people do. I suppose I don't know where I fall, though I have tossed around the idea of a fur suit (full or partial [should I ever come into lots of money]) for the anonymity as well as the fact that most of the furries I've met seem to be insanely accepting people. I know that's not all of them, but it seems like a cool crowd.
-
@xeleanorxrigbyx The major factor though is self identification. You need to choose to "be" a furry. Unlike this fandoms fetish for applying its label to everyone, furry is very much an opt in culture. They're very accepting, almost to a fault really. A couple of hours browsing Furaffinity and you'll see the lowest and most disturbing brands of pornography punctuated by charming pictures of couples in love, sweeping visions of sci-fi futures populated by furries, steampunk vistas in alternate worlds. It's like a "proper" culture in that it runs such a wide range of things. Of course all anyone outside the fandom ever sees or wants to talk about is the yiffing.
-
@komaeda I had 2 go 2 bank, I was literally not here
-
@ceruleanspark Yeah, it's like anything. People only focus on the worst parts and choose to ignore anything else.
-
@scoot I see
-
@komaeda So you didn't go to sleep, then
-
@scoot No instead I'm reading stuff
-
@xeleanorxrigbyx It's nice to talk to someone who is actually open minded about it to be honest. That said, I do kind of miss being told to yiff in hell. It's been such a long time.
-
@xeleanorxrigbyx Who says yiffing is the worst part? :p
-
@komaeda OK cool
-
@ceruleanspark #getyiffed simply isn't the same...
-
@scoot Yeah
-
@scoot I also read some Dangan Ronpa and Komaeda just got 1000000000 times better
-
@ceruleanspark Yiff in Hell Cerulean<3
Pony likes this. -
@komaeda OK~ I'm still probably not going to read it
-
@scoot Fine, but he became so cool
-
@komaeda I don't think I am the target audience for Doogle Rambo
-
@scoot Yeah but hear me out ok, at first Komaeda was just a sweetie pie but now he's a batmurdock INSANE sweetie pie
-
@komaeda Is that... desirable?
-
@scoot Yeah it's kind of a thing
-
@komaeda I see
-
@scoot You wouldn't understand
-
@komaeda Oh
-
@scoot Yeah
-
@komaeda Woah!
-
@scoot Yeah but anyway the case was so much more complicated than the first game's and I honestly had no idea who the culprit was until literally minutes before the reveal?? It was so exciting
-
@komaeda Cool :)
-
@scoot Though the execution wasn't as cool as the first one :-/ I mean I guess it was for some people but I feel that being thrown into a volcano and being made into fried chicken wasn't cool enough, like the first game had someone being beaten to death by baseballs, someone made into butter, someone burn to death and then hit with a firetruck and nearly three kids got squished by this huge block thing (like one of those twomps) like c'mon guys bring it up a notch
-
@komaeda Is this series literally just about ridiculous ways to kill people off
-
@scoot No
-
@scoot Well, a little bit. Like 10 percent
-
@komaeda What is the other 90%
-
@scoot Keeping hope when there is murder or everyone's FrankerZed yo
-
@komaeda Oh OK, so it's just "Gee I sure hope I don't get murdered" and then somebody gets murdered
-
@scoot Yeah kind of
-
@ceruleanspark You know what, even if someone is into that, whatever. It's not my business and they're not hurting anyone. I just don't get why people care about what other people get turned on by.
-
@xeleanorxrigbyx You are unusually enlightened in that regard.
-
@ceruleanspark Thanks! I'd like to think so. I've grown up around too many close minded people as it is. I just don't get why it affects them. Trying to talk to them about it is like arguing with a brick though. >.<
-
@xeleanorxrigbyx I generally find that when I argue using a brick I win more frequently.
-
@scoot What happened why have you disappeared
-
@komaeda I am watching Ashens and the Quest for the Game Child
-
@scoot Don't leave me hanging boy
-
@komaeda k sry
-
@scoot Watched a bit of that last night, but then I fell asleep. The opening scene was pretty funny.
-
@scoot :)
-
@komaeda :)
-
@scoot Woah!
-
@zeldatra It seems alright to me so far and I'm amazed how quickly this was all made and put together
-
@komaeda :-\
-
@scoot I actually don't know, how long was it in production?
-
@scoot :-/
-
@awwwlyra I suppose it perplexes me in a good way. Curious to find out more, as it were.
-
@zeldatra About a year
-
@scoot Hmm. Impressive for a rag-tag group of Internet comedians and Warick Davis.
-
@zeldatra Especially if you consider the bloody AVGN movie
-
@awwwlyra It's probably not going to happen, it probably won't be funny. AVGN is only good when he is being informative, he isn't funny
-
@xeleanorxrigbyx @ceruleanspark Thanks for having this conversation, you two. It was pretty interestsing to learn about this kind of thing without the awkwardness of me trying to ask, so thanks for that.
-
@commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese No problem. I figured I'd just bite the bullet and jump the awkwardness hurdle. :)
-
@awwwlyra Understandable, I don't watch his videos any more, but I would like more informative videos about weird old games I've definitely never heard of. If he cut out the "Angry" part then he'd be actually worth watching I think
-
@commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese @xeleanorxrigbyx Well if you have any further questions I do enjoy talking about this stuff.
-
@ceruleanspark Well, thanks for the offer.
