  1. !calgary The house in Didsbury has sold and the mad rush to find a place to rent in town is now on. This is good, but, the financial situation it leaves us in is not a pretty one. I'm going to need to find a part-time job as soon as possible, which is going to make my schedule pretty tight. I'm hoping to find something that will still allow me to attend the meetups, but I can't afford to be picky about it. And I might not be able to make it to this week's meetup, since we're going to be spending most of the day hauling things down here from Didsbury.

  10. How do I calculate a derivative using Δy/Δx? Like, what are the individual steps involved in calculating the derivative of y=3x^2-2x using Δy/Δx? || 'cause I know right off the top of my head that dy/dx=6x-2, but I don't know how to actually calculate it.

  12. EVERYPONY CROSS YOUR.. uh.. hooves? || Someone has expressed an interest in buying our house up in Didsbury, and possibly even taking posession before the end of the month. If this goes through, it'll mean a mad dash to find a place to rent in !calgary. If it DOESN'T go through, then starting October 3rd, I'll be facing a 2-hour commute to get to school -- and another 2-hour commute to get home -- EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

  15. @mayhapmurklins It's okay, I had a blast! And don't worry, you're probably better at the 'being social' thing than I am. Looking forward to seeing you guys again, though! @pseudoartiste

  17. @mayhapmurklins Lunch sounds cool! As for after class, I'm planning on going sketchbook shopping -- I already invited @pseudoartiste, you're more than welcome to come along as well. If you guys want, email me (puzzledmint@gmail.com) and I'll send you my phone number so you can try texting me -- just be aware that I have to keep my phone turned down for class and I have a bad habit of forgetting to check it for long periods of time. Failing that, I'll hang around the C-Train station at lunch and after class, and I guess I'll see you if I see you.

  18. @nightwillow Don't get me wrong, BioShock is a good game -- it's just not AS good as people make it out to be. || System Shock 2 sadly isn't on Steam, or much of anywhere except eBay and PirateBay. Basically it's BioShock's predecessor. "BioShock is System Shock 2 underwater, turned into a pretentious art project", is how I would describe the relationship. (System Shock 2 was on a space ship) !vgp

  19. @nightwillow Not really. I mean, it's okay, but I wouldn't call it a "must-play". If you can find it, get System Shock 2 instead. !vgp

  20. !calgary @vanillabelle At the moment, I don't have any other plans. I also don't drink, so @lifegospel's coffee idea would be okay, too. (Not that I drink coffee, but I'm sure I can find something..)

  21. @pseudoartiste Well, then, art student, any chance you'd be interested in a quick shopping trip after class tomorrow? I'm supposed to pick up an 11x17 sketchbook for my Design class, and it'd be cool to have the company.

  22. @pseudoartiste @mayhapmurklins I suppose the most sensible thing would have been to say, "Oh, hey, here's my schedule: http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/3371/shede.png -- may I see yours? Maybe we can figure out a convenient time in which to say "hey"". || I hope I'm not bugging you guys with this -- and if I am, please tell me so I can stop -- it's just that I do live out of town, and so I don't actually have that many friends IN town, and fewer still on campus. It would be nice to be able to be able to hang out with people who share a common interest on more than an "every other saturday"-basis. Um, you know, if that's alright with you..</fluttershy>

  23. @mayhapmurklins It's okay, I just found out I have to go shopping for a new phone after school anyways. My current one has decided that it doesn't want to be charged anymore. Also, you're very welcome for the Pinkie Pie! If you customize it, I want pictures!

  25. !college My COMM256 has us doing the Kiersey Temperament Sorter as part of our homework. I really hate those things. 71 questions, most of which are fairly ambiguous, and some of which are downright nonsensical. Then for each question, you have to choose only one answer, from a set of only two possible answers, which are almost always NOT mutually-exclusive. || I could only honestly and accurately answer 26 of the 71 questions using the options provided. So I decided to copy down all the questions and write out honest, accurate answers for all of them. I saved the file as "Pulling teeth.docx" || Oh well, at least now I know for sure that I'm an Idealist. Science said so.
