!northamptonbronies Ok everypony, it's February, school's back in session, and we need to get together and enjoy eachother's company! It's lots of fun to meet new people and bring baked goods (or baked bads?) to nom upon! Saturdays in general work best for me, though we prolly should schedule things for sometime next month, so an adequate amount of planning can happen. As for a meetup spot, we can always try to meet at a nice public venue, like the Forbes library or something. (Obviously we'd have to move somewhere before partying, cause libraries are s'posed to be quiet, according to Twilight).

Looks like it's possible that the site problems were due to us exceeding the daily quota for the geolocation service we used. Or a DoS attack. Or both! 9.6

@colfax I disabled the geolocation plugin for now. Let's see if it helps. If so, I can probably implement a local geolocation proxy. That'd cut down on the number of requests we send.

@cabal I'm at ~35 miles from the capital of the country, but still, the need for technicians is somewhat high. Decreasing a little, yes, but still a problem that comes with cloud computing and internet, is that there's abundance of information. That means virtually anyone could find a guide to fix most problems, but it means too that lots of wrong or "troll" to call it like that, information is available too. And only people with a certain degree of knowledge is able to distinguish a legit guide from something written by someone misinformed or trolling, so there will be an increase of the demand for that reason, people ruining their computers when following internet information.

@cabal Certainly the fact that most try to avoid sites like 4chan is true, but lots of forums and places like yahoo answers, that most users check are full of guys who think they know what they're typing, but don't have a real knowledge over the matter.

Things I did in 2011: Held a brony convention with 300 people at it. Got interviewed by the Wall Street Journal. Made lots of ponies happy (and saved one of them from the streets). That last sentence is the most important.
