Hills and vales of The North, Great Britain
http://www.youtube.com/user/yorkiebronyA couple of years ago I moved to Britain to do a PhD in Childhood Sociology. Now (finally) done with it, and hoping to get into Equine Assisted Therapy (if you want to know how/why, ask me).
So, here I am, in my 30s, and totally bitten by the MLP-FiM bug. I play cello, love the books and horse riding too.

@eaglehooves Thanks. This Mac has become 20% cooler now :-)
-
@purplephish20 Awesome! Love the lavalamp too. Always good when I'm stressed out. Do they also have a screensaver version for Apple?
-
@purplephish20 About 10.05? I'll try to hop on the same train. And I have MLP-shirts now :-)
-
!yorkshirebronies @klayking Most restaurants have at least 2 or 3 veggie options, and that's enough for me. Beside, it's lunch, so a salad might serve this veggie pony well too. Btw, am I the only one here who likes the taste of celery? :-p
-
@purplephish20 When does your train arrive in Sheffield? I can join you from there.
-
!yorkshirebronies @klayking So I managed to rearrange my working days to get the 28th off. In other words: I'll be there. About the food: Nandos sounds good to me, as long as they have anything without meat or fish. Eeyup, one vegetarian unicorn here. And if not, I'll just stick to the salads and appetizers. Or should I bring my own carrots, celery, oaties and apples? :-)

New earplugs in, listening to L'Hiver S'Enfuit at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDJlJ-oDJZI I just love it when Twilight sings in French. She makes me feel warm inside *sigh*

@purplephish20 I wouldn't know how it is in Sheffield. I'm still in Drenthe. Thursday I'll fly back to Manechester. It might be a bumpy flight...
-
Ideal Slumber Party weather here today. Storm will last to Thursday when an easygoing pegasus will take be back to my island. It might become a bumpy flight.... But first: Slumber Party *yay*
-
Hmm, the map shows I'm not here but in a city 15 miles to the north. Weird.....
-
@klayking My name already suggests I'm in Yorkshire. South Yorkshire that is: Sheffield (even though the map with my name atm shows a village in the northeast of the Netherlands). How do I subscribe to the group?
-
@purplephish A while back I made one Twilight drawing, following this tutorial on youtube. I have no idea whether my drawings will be any good, but practice doesn't hurt. And I don't limit the number of pony drawings in my scetchbook, nor do I hide the fact I love those Ponies (take a wild guess which one the most haha). Recent example: I proudly paraded my 'Love & Tolerare' shirt through customs at Schiphol :-p
-
Nothing beats working on a Twilight drawing while listening to Take Five of the Dave Brubeck Quartet while coffee is just being served :-)
-
Now on the Top2000 (www.radio2.nl) a song I made a PMV of: Hunting High and Low (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnoEPsufsXQ). I'm so touched and happy now.

@purplephish I never have been really away though. Just trying to figure out what I want to do after studies. And I'm working on fanfics and drawings and PMVs. I couldn't post one on Youtube, so am trying to get permission from copyright owners. How are you?
-
@flutterpastry Nice to meet you on the forum :-)
-
Day before yesterday: bus-train-train-airplane-train-train-van and now I'm on the continent, visiting family. Finally the time to work on drawings, a fanfic and PMVs. Recently I finished one, but have to ask WMG permission first before they allow it on youtube. Ah well, and some Christmas shopping too :-)

@purplephish20 sorry to hear that. Got another block here, called copyright. So much for creative spurs.... Got some ideas for a fanfic, but don't know if my 'notsohappymood' is the right state of mind to be in for writing.
-
@purplephish20 I just don't know what to do actually. Simply not happy with myself.
-
@purplephish20 Not really, I fear. How are you? Found some terrifying similarities between my own state of mind and Dream Theater's "About to Crash"...

Hi all. Yeah, I'm alive, dragging myself from one day to the next. Had my viva last week. In hindsight it wasn't too bad, but at the time I wanted to hide under a rock for at least 5000 years. Anyway, I did pass the viva, have to rewrite one chapter and some more things and that's it. Also I've been working on my 4th pmv. Tried to upload it today, but it got muted due to copyright issues. So I've embarked on the course to get permission to use that particular song. Why is everything here an uphill struggle these days (And please, don't say it is because I'm living in Sheffield....)
-
And remember me saying something went wrong with the printing of one of my brony shirts? Well, today I received the replacing one, which is totally perfect. So now I've 5 shirts! *yay*

Last day of viva preparation: reading through all of it guided by some epic music like Ouverture 1812 and the Leningrad Symphony. Talking about music: my latest pmv is mentioned on Russian and French brony sites :-) Well, that's all for now, back to my readings. Good thing: the nervousness will (hopefully) be over in 24 hours time...

Well, seemed it was an Apple bug that caused the problems uploading the PMV. But it's there: http://youtu.be/I44eu_knXpo And if the link doesn't work: MLP - PMV L'Agriculteur. Enjoy watching :-)
-
This is weird.... Tried to export a PMV from iMovie to QuickTime so I could put it on Youtube, and for some reason with this song QuickTime decided not to mute all the original sounds. So I checked the sound settings: all original sounds are muted. In fact, I have done exactly the same as with the previous 2 PMVs I uploaded, and no problems there. So, can anypony please tell me what I doing wrong here, or even better, what I can do to fix this?

@pawnheart Nothing serious in damage, actually it was a bit funny. The song will be L'Agriculteur by Ridan. Just have to do a bit of work on the fading out bit.

Viva less than a week away. Application due the day after, thus bending over backwards to get this letter written. Should I get stressed out about all this? Don't think (or hope) so. Thus another riding lesson this afternoon: finally I managed to keep 'my' horse on the outside track. But I was focusing so much on getting him there that I forgot that concrete pillars are more solid than my knee... But hay, still alive, still can walk, cycle, and ride, so bring on next week :-) Meanwhile I'll continue writing this application letter. Oh yeah, my French PMV is almost done: big sisters can talk in fancy too :-)

Exactly a year ago about this time I was entering France, heading for Calais. Somehow I managed to pack most of my belongings in a Citroën Berlingo, and was on my way to Sheffield (side note: it was really difficult to overtake with that left-steering car in the UK as I couldn't see whether there was a car on my right, bind of a blind spot there. Or actually, more like a black hole where even HGV could disappear in). Anyway, today it is exactly one year ago since I moved (back) to Britain. Time does fly indeed. So.... cupcakes anyone??

@pawnheart Thanks. How's things where you are?
-
@mrdragon yes I am. And. I. Don't. Like. Writing. Job. Application. Must be because I find it difficult to describe my skills....
