  12. @zennx I was told that the current professional-grade eye-tracking system for HMD devices costs 15000€. A price the computer graphics department is hesitant to pay for.

  13. @zennx unless you live in brazil, in this case the price will only go higher and higher

  14. @zennx In my humble opinion the VR games are all very simple because there are huge problems that don't have a solution yet. The Vive has "room scale" tracking and it works great BUT only within the tracked space. There is only so much to do within a 3x3 meters area. This is a table with the distribution of the room sizes the users have https://steamcommunity.com/app/358720/discussions/0/350532536103514259%7D I'm working on a Master thesis to make something to enlarge the virtual area without the use of teleportation.

  15. @zennx The problem is that there exists professional equipment for eye tracking in head-mounted displays but it's quite expensive.

  22. @zennx Oh wow, I probably have to read that story... Also maybe she prophesized herpes before getting to glomp the chariot ?

Tuesday, 27-Sep-16 21:17:37 UTC from web in context
  23. @zennx Well, if Morpheus would prophecize me to be the one I would only believe him to take me into high regard, but if the Oracle would flatout tell me I am the one I would start to live my life like I am the one. What I am saying with this is that a prophet needs to be smart about what he or she says, conveys, leaks, and more specifically does not do. @adiwan Even if it is a magic curse, there would be some way to get around it. Maybe the person in that story wasn't prophecising hard enough about what he/she should do him/her-self

  24. @zennx People never listen, people tend to dismiss what they do not understand. You are talking to someone with Calvinistic pragmatism lenses the size of a small moon. ... But you are right, maybe I would not believe her, or still dismiss what she would say with the intensity and reckless abandon as if I had gotten advice from a crazy cat lady. But in the very least I'd be trying to make sense of it and fail. like a puzzlepiece made for beings that see in 4D.
