now that the right is doing cancel culture again me and my leftist buddies get to do a grift podcast where we just complain about getting deplatformed while making a million an episode on a Spotify deal

First through of Silent Hill f done. All but the worst ending is locked behind New Game+ apparently so it looks like I’m going in for at least one more round.

It's quite the sight to see old cell phones in an old box. It is a bigger sight when there is a bulge on the back from the swelling lithium-ion battery. Thankfully they did not burst and went up in flames. On the other hand they would have been so discharged after so much time that the little bit of energy could barely start any fire.

And also a puzzle in the game conditions you to read letters as numbers.

Silent Hill f earns the distinction of having the most uncomfortable sequence of scenes I think I have ever witnessed in a video game. I was genuinely dreading continuing on to the next room between each and every one of them. Well done.

@zeldatra Is that their 15th Silent Hill? Did they have an A thru E, too??

@scribus With f being the sixth letter of the alphabet, I’m pretty sure that among a few meanings, it’s intended to be read as Silent Hill 6. Origins is called “Zero” in Japan, and Homecoming never got a Japanese release and is straight up omitted from Konami’s website, leaving this game as the sixth SH game not including remakes, spinoffs, and reimagining.

The last few days got quite cold and my almost ripe tomatoes were popping left and right, meaning they cracked open, and some were moldy. Not only that some also fell down due to strong winds. I had to throw away about 5 tomatoes away.

I'm pretty annoyed by the pickiness of SD cards my new printers have. None of them want to read the SD cards that I've bought. Other ones I have are fine, so an obvious hardware defect can be dismissed. I formatted them as FAT32 with msdos partition table and yet they don't work in the printer. The PC has no problems at all with them. Only the printers don't like them.

After 4 years of use of those small bungee cords as shoe laces I had to replace them today. They were absolutely not good looking anymore because the fabric around the rubber core was shaved off at many spots. But I can confidently say that only ONCE one shoe got loose because of the knot was too loose and that happened near the beginning of my first use. They were rock solid and I was never in danger of getting the shoe laces open and them tangling into my bike chain.

How many times has Liam Neeson talked someone through a severe trauma in a movie? There's the daughter being taken in Taken, there's that guy who dies at the start of The Grey, are there more data points here? Is this the next "Sean Bean always dies?"

Another 20kg of picked apples from a relative's garden. My mother will give a lot of them away to her colleagues and neighbors as she is only able to store and make half of that as apple sauce. I also brought a few kilos home but my apple eating is already maxxed at 1 apple every 3 days. I don't mind apples but I have limits. My limits are already tested with tomatoes, I don't need more food challenges to overcome.

A few hours ago the seller with his family was delivering the 3D printer to me. They were coincidentally planning driving near by me so we agreed on not using a parcel delivery service but I still paid the delivery costs. Also I gave a good hand full of tomatoes to them. Three Prusa MK3S in da house working and printing nonstop sorting bins. Slightly dirty trapezoidal threaded rods but it looks good.

It’s kinda hard to celebrate being put up for promotion when the context behind it is that the opening was created because the last guy was sexually harassing customers

New WFH job has me using Teams for the first time ever and it made me reflect back on my long feud with Microsoft. I thought it was hyperbole when I told the class it's been 30 years. I realized, that would make me 12. Did I really give a batcave about operating systems when I was 12?! But then I remembered that would have been 1995, when Windows 95 was the first time I was encountering being in a situation where I have more impressive CPU and RAM specs but can't run the damn software because we're still on 3.11.

@scribus MS Teams is in the weird space of being good enough and suck. I'm using it for years and the most annoying it can get is when you have to use it across organizations. There is no unified view and you have to switch accounts any time to view a notification. The era of Win 3.11 and 95 was really weird. I had DOS, 3.11, and 95 software at the same time and had to have a parallel installation of 95 and 3.11. Scanner software in 3.11, photo editing in 95, games in DOS.
