  1. @mrmattimation Prince of Persia The Sands of Time was also made there. So there is something good from there.

  2. @mrmattimation Ubisoft is French. They have a studio in Canada. But that said other major game developers have a studio there. I don't want to mention the countless TV shows and movies that are filmed in Canada (especially in and around Toronto).

  4. Gnaaah.... I spilled half a pot of shade wash all over my table while painting my miniature. Luckily I had an underlay and kitchen paper in case that happens... and it happened.

  6. "a rousing success" or "arousing success"?

  7. @scribus How about "Bald<pl. male chicken>"?

  8. Pro tip: don't watch anything that make you laugh hysterically when painting miniatures. Just don't.

  9. @thelastgherkin A trash bag to be precise. The kind that is made of too thin and cheap plastic and is very prone to fall apart when being mid-way to the dumpster.

  11. Got to see the latest Doctor Who episode.... well.... It reminded me a lot of why I stopped watching that show. It had some good moments but they seemed wasted by the odd "twist".

  12. I'm thinking about switching to magnetic USB leads because I'm fed up with sticking the cable into the small micro-USB plug. However looking-up a good set of leads is confusing and frustrating. I want a cable that works with micro-USB and USB-C but there are barely any. And in general the reviews are often abysmal for most of them.

  13. Watching the documentary "The Toys That Made Us" on Netflix. The wacky beginnings of some toy lines is highly entertaining. So far there are episodes about Star Wars, Barbie, He-Man, and G.I. Joe.

  17. Of course... I gift my mother a tablet and she wants to play spider solitaire on it. Parents...

  19. Merry Happy! I just got my Christmas gifts. Bunch of books (Legend of Korra Season 2 art book, Dirk Gently's Holistic Agency comic) and a small whiteboard with pens and a bit of money.

  26. @scribus It's mostly harmless. It has major flaws and lots of minor ones. It was a tad better than The Force Awakens. I can say that I was entertained. It is a popcorn flick and major expectations are misplaced here. A few of my friends were devastated and said it was worse than the prequels. I can't share that notion but I can understand that in a way. I thought TFA was disappointing and my friends thought it was fantastic. Tastes are weird. Watch it when the movie theater shows for a cheaper price or when it comes on BluRay or DVD and watch it with friends (or different sources, nudge nudge).

  28. Got back from The Last Jedi, after the parking deck parking price stole my money. 2.50€ for 2.5h hours is obnoxiously high (extra to the cinema ticket price). I ran to my car as fast as I could because I didn't want to pay extra 0.50€.
