@nerthos When I was originally writing the script the fear was overloading the server with too many requests. As long as the refresh interval isn't too quick though it's not doing much. ~ I haven't touched #rdnrefresh in months. As a result I have no idea what the current status of it is. :/
-
@widget - Looks like #rdnrefresh is breaking every so often. I'm getting an error with the function toLowerCase - which looking at the current version seems to be caused by a lack of a username prior to the conversion? The username is defaulting to administrator only sometimes though even though it's wrapped in a try. I'm guessing it's just the cookie call failing from time to time (and it seems to be only on profiles and groups). ~ Just a thought. It's also breaking on the mainpage (only the mainpage apparently) on a toLowerCase as well; which seems to be either in hideSpoilers or hideUsers because the error references a '.each' as the container.
-
Mmkay, !rdnrefresh is back to 1.7.1.2 ~ I'll update again tomorrow or something.

@haganbmj As a quick note; Decrypting a post will essentially break it. Any links (including those to user pages, groups, and tags) will be removed. I'll work on this for the future, but for now just wanted to get a script running hah. !rdnrefresh
-
Just passed through an updated version of !rdnrefresh - Added a 'decrypt' button to each post (for the damn rot13 encoding you guys thought was necessary xD), along with fixing the style to accept this. ~ I set up my page a bit differently than most, but I tried to test the default page configuration as much as possible. As always, Lemme know if there are any issues.
-
!rdnrefresh updated ~ Quote from @ponydude2143 "Here's a newer version of RDN Refresh that supports ROT13 for spoilers, a method we've agreed on so that ponies without RDN Refresh don't have to worry."

@colfax Haha, or not - It looks like after a restart it actually wants to tell me that Greasemonkey is incompatible with Firefox 8.0 ~ Soo, maybe once that's updated we'll be running clear. !rdnrefresh
-
!rdnrefresh seems to work fine as the raw install - not the firefox specific one - using Firefox 8.0 ~ As a note for any of those upgrading to Firefox 8. You'll still need Greasemonkey, but that's to be expected.
-
@ponydude2143 Updated. !rdnrefresh
-
Minor update to !rdnrefresh. Slight typo hindered hiding spoilers without a refresh.
-
Small update to !rdnrefresh - thanks to @ponydude2143 for some work on username and tag hiding ( #spoiler(s) perhaps? ). I'll patch through the firefox update here in a few, still haven't gone through the motions of working out that issue. Lemme know if you find any issues, I just did a rough glance over on this - checking the pages I thought might spawn problems.
-
@janktrio To post in a group you're going to want to write an exclamation mark and then the group name (or one of the alternate tags) ~ Such as !rdnrefresh ~~ And welcome to the website :D
-
@ponydude2143 Sweet; installing now to give it a look !rdnrefresh
-
@hoit21 @nightwillow ~ Information is under teh group tag !rdnrefresh
-
@fencingblind !rdnrefresh should work well enough for this site. I haven't quite optimized it for all browsers - but it works well in chrome, and should be fine in firefox 5 (with the alternate install link).
-
@cloudscape You could give !rdnrefresh a try. I still haven't perfected it to work with all browsers flawlessly, but you could be able to get it going on Chrome or Firefox (5).
-
@haganbmjtest Mmkay, I'm content for the moment. seems fine with Firefox 5 at the moment. I wrote an alternate script using the method that seemed to work fine. It's showing no issues thus far, handling refresh, highlighting, notifications, value storing, etc, etc. ~ So for those on Firefox 5 give http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/105287 a try as an alternate to the normal path for !rdnrefresh
-
@abigpony Always improve. I'd like to figure out the main issue with Firefox 5 and !rdnrefresh ~ I think I know where it's coming from, but I'm still not sure how to fix it. The only ideas I've found online haven't seen to have done it.
-
@abigpony I /wouldn't/ go here with !rdnrefresh lol
-
@greydragon412 @starshine This was addressed (I didn't see the message beforehand though haha) ~ yeah, the problem originally was that tink had Meetups and Personal under the same ID, so I had to just select it by the second menu item. When this changed, my way to find the current user's name broke. Now that each has an individual ID there shouldn't be any further problems with that. The userscripts page was updated a few hours ago to reflect this !rdnrefresh
-
@musicssound Well, it apparently only works right now with Google Chrome (firefox changed a few things with Firefox 5 and broke some features I guess) ~ So that's a starting point. From there, if you click on the !rdnrefresh group page, you'll see a link at the top to http://userscripts.org (I forget the direct link haha) ~ From there I have information at the top of what you'll need to get it running.
-
@haganbmj I guess that means I should also add rainbowdash.com to the list of registered websites !rdnrefresh runs on.
-
Updated !rdnrefresh to reflect the addition of a forums link at the top of the page. Username highlighting will once again work. No other changes, I haven't had the time to really look at Firefox 5 handling or to compress the menu.
-
@abigpony Yeah, nothing in !rdnrefresh would be a cause of that. It's just loading the page in the background and switching some stuff around (though I think I might be to blame sometimes when posting errors occur - still looking into that)
-
@abigpony How long are we talking? Hours and hours? And what form of invalid website issue - the timeline shouldn't be updating if it receives an error. It should just sit where it was. !rdnrefresh ~ As for the posting errors, I get those from time to time as well - I think that's a server side issue though.
-
@theawesomepony There are a few people on here I'd like to keep contact with, and that's the only reason I keep coming back. If it weren't for !rdnrefresh keeping my interest from time to time, I'd have probably left. ~ The skype chat is continually in decline, there's never a valid topic (unless it's sexual -.-)
-
Quick update to !rdnrefresh ~ At the request of @starshine :P I added toggles to enable/disable the sliding animation on the timeline and to clear the context after each post (or when the reply field is emptied) ~ The clearing still doesn't work how I'd like it, but it should catch most instances. I'll try and clean up the sidebar tomorrow, probably condensing all the toggles into one large dropdown to keep things compact. For now though, [Photo Finish Voice] ... I Go (and sleep).
-
Updated !rdnrefresh ~ It will now clear the replyto field (which is responsible for creating in-context) after you submit a post and whenever the reply field is empty. You can also check which message you are replying to by hovering over the "What's up, *username*?" text at the top of the reply field. Check it out. I'll also work on a fix for Firefox 5 in a bit, for now there is a partially updated version available that seems to work fine (check the userscripts page for info) - but I'll see what I can do to resolve that issue fully.
-
@thebrilliantspy I wrote a bit of a script here you can check out !rdnrefresh ~ There's a link within there (in the description) with some instructions. Otherwise, you could try the StatusNet desktop client.
