One of the things I loved so much about Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road was that she was a strong female character without being a Strong Female Character. She was allowed to get dirty and gritty and violent and didn't have to have perfect hair or be in a tight outfit while doing it. When Max first meets her he addresses her as a threat, because he knows that her being a woman changes nothing and that any complacency around a stranger could bring about his death. Later in the film, when the main characters are being pursued, Furiosa uses Max's shoulder to aim with a rifle, because Max understands that the only thing that matters is that they need to escape and she's the better shot. But aside from being strong, she's not cold either. All of the film's most potent emotional touchstones were framed through her character arc, and she ended up being an interesting and dynamic character that did an excellent job driving (pun intended) the film.

Onto the idea itself. I haven't come up with a final title quite yet, but for now I'm calling it "SuperZeroes". It takes place in the same fictional universe as Mattimation and centers around a police officer pushing for the criminalization of superhuman crime fighters, due to the effect they have on the economy. The officer is divorced and has a ten year-old son who idolizes super heroes. That's about all I've got right now, except that the secret identity of her least favorite super hero is her next door neighbor. I think it's got the potential to be pretty funny while also allowing me to pursue more action-oriented work.

@northernnarwhal It's still in the very basic stages of development, and I don't know when I'll have the time to work on it, but I'm glad that I was finally able to come up with something original that wasn't a parody or "an animated version of me does stuff".

@mrmattimation Yeah I get that, things just sort of fell into place for you. In my high school Creative Writing class I gave my final a female lead just because it felt natural to me while writing it.

@rarity In all seriousness spicy food is super good and i eat it all the time. I'm not sure why specifically Taco Bell gives me problems. I think it's the fact that I'm always buying the worst things for you on the menu.

@scribus Pretty much, yeah. Most contemporary criticisms of communism are really just masked criticisms of authoritarian state and autocracy.

@scribus well, you could argue that totalitarianism is necessary to bring about communism. some people say that "dictatorship of the proletariat" means a dictatorship run BY the proletariat, but that doesn't really make sense since that would just be true stateless communism anyway, the people ruling themselves. I always interpreted Marx as meaning that there needed to be strong rulers in a socialist state to transition to Communism. Of course I'm an AnCom so I reject the concept of DotP, but I mean you could say that Lenin and Stalin we're staying true to the concept.
