  8. OmG, butter is often not completely vegan? But chicken is still vegan, isn't it?

  9. @omni More than self-control, it requires vigilance and research. Many basic cooking ingredients contain traces of dairy products.

  10. @omni Actually you said "All you vegan-hating meat eaters never met an actual vegan." Which set everyone off on you because you were acting high and mighty. It's all your fault don't blame everyone else.

  12. @omni yeah, but it was so easy to leave meat behing that i'd like to try that more as a curiosity. but it will have to wait

  14. @omni It's difficult to be a vegan. Imagine a life without cheese. An impressive sacrifice.

  15. @omni "vegan-hating meat eaters" I do like the whiny accusations you feel the need to interject into everything you say

  17. @omni My / is only using 54G right now, so I'd say 100G is probably a good safe amount for it. Mine has 250G to work with though. /home should be by far the biggest, as it's going to be where all of your personal files go which will include a lot of media and image files.

  18. @omni My /tmp is a memory disk.

  19. @omni going to put /home on a separate drive then? If it's going on the same drive it *should* get its own partition.

Thursday, 03-Jan-13 21:18:37 UTC from web in context
  20. @omni For a more realistic, dual drive system, /home should just get its own drive. Then you don't even need to mess with extended partitions.

  21. @omni For a single drive setup, Windows | SWAP | /boot | Ext -> / | /home is what I would suggest. I have no idea why you would ever make a partition for /root, and /tmp should never have its own partition or everything breaks.

  22. @omni Actually, I guess I'll put /root and /home together as I can't estimate their respective sizes well

  23. @omni Windows, /boot, and swap can't be on logical partitions I don't think, but beyond that there should be no problems having / and /home as logical partitions off an extended partition.

  28. @omni Well thanks. I had my PC dual booted with Win 7 and Ubuntu, and formatted the Win 7 partition. Now GRUB is freaking out with "error: no such partition. Grub rescue>" I tried booting to USB with an UBuntu iso and it doesn't recognize the boot drive.

  30. @omni My pogoplug for example only has 256mb RAM and a 1.2GHz ARM processor and Arch is installed on a 16GB usb stick. On the plus side: this system doesn't suck as much power than a full PC.
