  6. @kingoderps Dubstep? Seems to be popular nowadays. Give RHYNO (http://rhynodubstep.bandcamp.com/) a try. It's the only Dubstep I really listen to (Dubstep is not my favorite genre)

  11. @deziac If you don't mind a lack of graphics, Nethack (which you can download from idkwhere or you could telnet into games.libreplanet.org) or, the more new-player friendly Brogue (https://sites.google.com/site/broguegame/), could be interesting for you on the RPG side. Or check here: https://libregamewiki.org/ (though I haven't played most of those games so I can't vouch for their quality.

  12. @deziac Well, if you like Minecraft, but don't like spending money, we have Minetest (http://minetest.net/). If you want, you can join me on games.libreplanet.org. More the shooter type? Something quick? Red Eclipse (http://www.redeclipse.net/) is, with the exception of a few textures, FLOSS, but still completely free in monetary sense. Want something which is a tad bit more like the old Quake games? Xonotic (http://www.xonotic.org/ - forked from Nexuiz) or OpenArena (http://www.openarena.ws/smfnews.php - #) could be interesting for you. Have strange interests? Want to play a "shooter" in which you play a furry who has to eat other furries? We have Vore Tournament (http://sourceforge.net/projects/voretournament/ - #), of which I haven't checked if the textures are "free as in freedom", but they are "free as in no-cost", for that. Something else? Tell me what kind of game you want to play!

  23. @neurario That's exactly what Web does for Linux, which perfectly integrates with GNOME3 (which I'm not using right now), and should integrate well with most other Linux desktop environments. If you click the button in the screenshot, it'll create a .desktop file which will be a desktop shortcut to to website opening with only a window border (assuming your Window Manager uses window borders) and no UI at all. I don't know any Windows equivalents, though. I know Mozilla used to have "Prism", which was something to do just that, but they discontinued it. http://ur1.ca/c87dv

  25. @goneairbourne There is a difference between Open Source and Free Software. The Open Source movement rejects the Free Software movement's ideas and focus more on the practical advantages of making software Open Source, instead of the social and political reasons for Free software. This article explains it fairly well: https://fossbazaar.org/content/software-101-open-source-vs-free-software-movement/. Remember: All Free software is Open Source (as this is required for freedom 1: "The freedom to study how the program works, and change it so it does your computing as you wish"), but not all Open Source software is Free software. See: https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.en.html (The four bullet points are enough to get the basic idea, you don't need to read the complete article). But well, nice to meet you too!

  26. @zeldatra Well, I know you use Skype and stuff, which is not Free as in Freedom, so I should give you something which supports such proprietary software out-of-the-box or you'll be like "Ugh, NONE of my applications run on this stupid Linux thing!". But yeah, try Linux Mint: http://linuxmint.com/download.php (I would personally go for Cinnamon, MATE is a desktop based on the old-fashioned GNOME2 which was loved by geeks but found dull and boring by others. Cinnamon is a bit more interestingly-looking as well.

  27. @nerthos Lojban is a language which really focuses on structures and conversion. {su'u} shows the beginning of a "subsentence", which ends with {kei}. {lo} converts the selbri {tavla} to a sumti, and {ku} ends this conversion. The conversion is necessary because you can only have one selbri per sentence (similar to the English language, albeit I can't think of an example right now). It sounds complicated, but one you go through the tutorial a bit, it'll actually be quite logical: http://www.lojban.org/tiki/wavelessonscontinued

  30. @pony On Windows or Mac, that's possible: http://bluestacks.com/ (I think that's free as in beer, but not sure). On Linux, I would expect it to be possible (because we have parts of Android right in our kernel) but I haven't found a way yet.
