  1. @kamikaze If it's "weird" to not succumb to how society as a whole wants you to be, then please, stay weird. It's great to have people choose for themselves what they like or don't like.

  2. @firestormdangerdash I don't see how that's worse than wasting 80-or-so Euros on Virtual nothingness, but I can understand that's slightly annoying.

  3. @omni That was supposed to be going to @yuko. Fail :(

  4. @omni @yoku (That means: I suggest you talk with me in lojban. But if you want, English would be fine as well)

  6. @firestormdangerdash Let me guess, the one that causes you to lose real-life money without getting anything in return? They have no reason to fix it, because people are stupid enough to just pay twice then. Yes, consumers, this is all your own fault.

  7. @kamikaze Meh, I haven't had a reason to really use vi. Perhaps, one day, I'll seriously learn it. But for now? Meh.

  8. @kamikaze I've met a vi user which did that already. He was also running Gentoo. But in the end, I have a text editor which allows me to write text. What more do I want?

  9. @dlcentaur mi cizra (I'm strange)

  10. @kamikaze I honestly don't have any pony related metal. I have one album in my "check-if-interesting" list, but I haven't gotten to it yet so I have no clue what it is like: http://officialkyoga.bandcamp.com/

  11. @dlcentaur It's lojban, a language I'm learning for fun. Yes, that's fun to me. I think something is wrong with me. At any rate: https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lojban

  12. @kamikaze I knew it was a joke, I just have the bad tendency to seriously answer to jokes. Don't ask me why, I don't make sense. And vi vs emacs? I use nano :P

  14. @kamikaze Honestly, I find the GPL to be quite limited, but I've never looked into the BSD license but I've heard good stuff about it. I should check it out once I have some time. Well, here is some free Metal: http://akelei.bandcamp.com/ (Akelei - Dutch Doom Metal), http://destroyjudas.bandcamp.com/ (Destroy Judas - Doom Metal), http://dyingsun.bandcamp.com/ (Dying Sun - Atmospheric Doom Metal), http://emergencybloodshed.bandcamp.com/ (Emergency Bloodshed - Metalcore), http://miroist.bandcamp.com/ (Miroist - Djent), http://moritoergosum.com/album/i-die-therefore-i-am (Morito Ergo Sum - Doom Metal), http://satory.bandcamp.com/album/the-japanese-beast (Satory - Post-Metal). I have more, of course, but all of that is available as a free download (and, if you don't like Bandcamp, I have most of them as .FLAC on my server, where you can get them from if you want).

  15. @kamikaze Oh, hey, FreeBSD hacker? Cool. Good evening from the GNU/Linux-libre side! (Also, metalhead? I may have some music for you, what kind of metal are you into?)

  16. @kamikaze Better to be safe than sorry, I guess.

  17. @kamikaze Well, that was a quick switch of stance

  20. Oh, Freenet, who knew the "old" Internet, without decent search engine, where you would just follow links until you would find something interesting would be so... interesting.

  22. @omni I think, at least. Comparing something to how it used to be, when we are clearly living in a different situation now, sounds like one to me. For example, not too long ago homosexuality was still frowned upon by most people, but that doesn't say anything about the current situation.

  23. @colfax You're committing a logical fallacy.

  24. @thelastgherkin I have no clue why I thought it would be more than 140 characters.

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 16:12:30 UTC from web in context
  25. @thelastgherkin That's surely over 140 characters, so impossible.

  26. @broniebrown I think I can answer "How can he communicate with the outside world?": He probably has a smartphone with him, and can get a wireless signal.

  27. @theinsignificant I don't have one (yet). I'm only at lesson 6 of the 28 grammar lessons I need to go through to speak good lojban, and then I'll have to take care of my vocabulary, so I think it's a bit early for me to grab such a nickname, though I think I'll do so sooner or later :P

  28. @mushi It's lojban: https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lojban (I don't normally link to "Simple English" Wikipedia, but it shows the meaning much better than the normal one, which is too detailed on the subject)

  29. The worst part of learning a language is that, when you've reached the point where you can say something like {.i mi gelki lo su'u mi tavla do kei ku} and feel proud of yourself, other people will be going around talking like {.i lo nu mi jinvi lo jitfa goi ko'a cu cumki .i da'i lo nu ko'a fatci ku mukti lo se zukte mi .i lo smuni be di'u bei mi ku jitfa tu'a mi .i ku'i lo nu mi srera jinvi ku cumki .i lo nu mi pensi ku sarcu lo nu mi jimpe}. It kinda shatters your good feelings about what you have "achieved".

  30. @theidiotking I must have been pretty unclear in my methods of communications if you believe I am an elephant. That is... interesting.
