  1. @abooky My parents wouldn't be able to manage me, they don't even know how my system works :3

  2. @fortecadenza Oh, that stuff. Yeah, that's always annoying. My mom still gets annoyed when I tell her to reboot the PC when something breaks on her Windows again. It's not my fault that actually is the # solution for fixing random bugs under Windows!

  3. @abooky My parents let me manage everything computer-related here. Which is why I am the only one who actually has access to the router and can remotely control every system in the house, muahaha! :3

  4. @mushi My father uses Mozilla Firefox and LibreOffice just fine. He even managed to understand how to use Ubuntu within an hour of giving it to him. He may not understand much about computers, but he's better at it than my mother is (which is ironic, because my mother taught me how to use a computer).

  5. @fortecadenza That wouldn't be such a problem if the default software on a default Windows installation wouldn't be complete junk :P

  6. @abooky My mom still uses Internet Explorer, and I can't get her to go away from it, even after it got into the news for being exploitable as hell again. I did get my grandparents to convert to Mozilla Firefox though, so yay for that!

  7. @abooky Practically everything loads faster than Internet Explorer :P

  8. @abooky Well, off to install?

  11. Dolphin, what the actual hell are you doing? You copied the first 165GB over in about one and a half hour, and now you're already spending 30 minutes on 10GB, and you still have another 10 to go... Gah!

  12. @redenchilada That's why Javascript is evil and dangerous and [install paranoid speech here]. No, but yeah, it is kinda cool. Javascript is one of those languages that are quite powerful, and can therefore be used great or abused terribly :P

  13. @mushi I personally prefer http://abetterbrowser.org/ :P

  14. @abooky Seeing how Internet Explorer is one of the browsers with the most terrible support for web technology, and RDN does use some semi-new stuff (not only 10 years old stuff) that could explain some of the issues. You should consider giving either Mozilla Firefox (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/) or Google Chrome (http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en/landing_chrome.html) a try. There are more, but those two are really good choices and used by a lot of people. I'm not going to promise you it'll fix everything, but there is a fair chance it will.

  22. @greenenchilada I live in The Netherlands. Small country in Europe, that somehow manages to be semi-important to others. We have some good and some bad things, but all-round I'm not all too disappointed with the way things go here.

  23. Oh, good job local phone company. You send me an SMS about receiving an MMS and give me a link where I have to login but it doesn't actually contain a login form. Gah!

  24. @greenenchilada America is the last country I would ever want to go in my entire life, so unlikely :P

  25. @ceruleanspark I currently have a Prosody XMPP instance running on my own system, so the only thing I may need help with later is letting it communicate to other servers if it doesn't work out. I don't have a server or domain yet, though, so that'll still take some time. At any rate, thanks for offering a helping hand.

  27. @ceruleanspark Seeing how much I enjoy setting everything up locally, and having a physical system I can hug whenever things work as I tried to set them up, I think I'd rather do it locally myself. Thanks for the tip, though.
