#totw Twilight Sparkle glared at the egg. Why wasn't it working? Why wasn't anything working? She'd tried Life spells, Growth spells, heck, she'd even tried Necromancy. Frowning, she scrambled to think of a spell, any spell, that could help. As she did this she found herself smiling. This was kind of fun. The puzzle, the pressure. Her grin got wider and wider. This is what magic is about! A battle between pony and nature. It was all so clear! This is what the test must be about!! To create a spark of curiosity in the students... Wait... Spark... Fire... Heat... That's it!!! Of course a dragon egg must need intense heat to hatch!!! Twilight paused. She didn't know any high level fire spells... But maybe she didn't need to. Her horn began to glow brightly. The audience watched as... nothing happened. Suddenly one of the judges asked "Is it me, or is it hard to breathe?" Celestia frowned and asked What are you doing young filly?" Twilight grinned "Making hydrogen".

#totw I might have felt the former if, as when I was younger, I had less understanding of the goodness of reality and compared FiM to what I saw around me. Reality is so much more fantastic than any fiction that human minds fail to conceive it in their current state. I feel no sorrow seeing the show knowing that life holds the potential for even more joy in it than an escape to Equestria, and the good I see in FiM is only a whisper of a shadow of things to come after the crucible of life. FiM does fill me with gratitude and love for the goodness in people, especially those who conceived the show, brought it to us, and the fans and professional who've helped perpetuate it. It gives me hope that despite the turmoil we'll yet find happy society with one another.

#totw Twi would bring her friends of course, but, barring that option, she'd bring a book or two on survival, a book on how to get un-stranded, a book on paper and ink making (you know I never thought about how wrong it might be if she uses parchment until now [depending on what it's made from]), a tome of magical theory, and maybe a comfort item (possibly also a book).

#totw Which pony /should/ take over? Twilight is the only pony who would rightly belong in Celestia's place. Celestia herself will train her and hand over the reigns before ascending into whatever it is alicorns ascend into. Luna may follow her or she may remain to serve as an advisor for a limited time. If Twilight isn't ageless like her mentor she may train up a successor, but I like to think that she'd foresee how easily corrupted a monarchy is across generations so she may instead institute a system of higher and lower judges to take her place with checks and balances on power. Having briefly studied the government system of the human society which she visited at Equestria High, Princess Twilight will one day return to the alternate dimension and seek out additional information. With a more complete understanding of such a system and it's weaknesses as well as other human government alternatives, she'll improve upon the system and implement the resultant plan.

#totw Call in the MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER PONIES! Once transformed into their respective Harmony bots, they'll split and take out numerous changeling and griffon minions. When the final boss appears they'll finally reunite and combine, and Twilight forms the head!

#totw We see that some ponies do change their name based on what they become known for in Apple Family Reunion. Namely Aunt Applesauce got her name by losing her dentures in some apple sauce . So maybe it's possible ponies change their name to match their cutie marks in some cases while in other (e.g. Pinkie Pie) they keep their old names.

Assuming that's actually what we get out of it, I'm guessing that Hasbro chose to push it as such in order to compete with Monster High, etc. But honestly.. is Monster High that worth competing against? Does LPS really deal with the typical high school sort of stuff? How will this differ from LPS? I wonder if this could be the upcoming #totw

Twilight seems to be informed of when Princess Celestia is busy as seen in Magic Duel when Celestia visits Saddle Arabia and, knowing Twilight, she'd have briefed all of her friends on correct friendship report etiquette, not to mention Spike would know better than to send it just any time seeing how he objected to sending Twilight's message the day before the Summer Sun Celebration in the series premier. Therefore, the only way this fits in my headcanon is if Celestia wishes to offer more flexibility to more students. Being the best pony that she is, !Celestia would also be likely to ensure she could still be reached in case of emergency.
