@adiwan Um, rage faces and doge aren't dank memes. They're stale memes...

A robo-vaginado you really want to ask me??
-
@caret7 Nah, it's pretty dumb in multiple ways.
-
Now I really wanna remake it. Maybe put the original levels (but without random mine shrapnel) in as an unlockable or something.
-
@northernnarwhal They'd be better if the shrapnel flew out in a set pattern, probably. Letting RNG decide whether you hit something or blow yourself up is pretty dumb.

Diamonde Kwest was just me channeling my inner 14-year-old.

@northernnarwhal A lot of the issues can also just be chalked up to me not being that great at level design as a kid. The benchmark was "if I can beat it, it's good", which leads to stuff like the first room.
-
Hell yeah, total score 4740 that time

Also I just realized it can't be a 2010 game because we moved out of the place I was living in when I made it in 2009.

@northernnarwhal I was 15 and going through a very stressful house move at the time.
-
@northernnarwhal I'm sorry I showed it to you
-
@northernnarwhal RIP
-
@northernnarwhal Yeah, you... probably shouldn't have taken out the gun right at the start. (They only shoot when other things tell them to, so don't worry about taking them out unless you're worried about tripping an alarm.)
-
I'll wait to screenshot the third map until he makes it past the first.

@northernnarwhal The second level's map is http://i.imgur.com/Qjr9viE.png . (The red blocks around the guards are their range of vision.) The hatman on the right side does attack, so just drop a mine on him and then hide behind the wall to avoid the blast. And the camera by the spawn faces downward normally, so you don't have to worry about dodging it right off.
-
@northernnarwhal Alright, here's the first level's map. http://i.imgur.com/XNEqC2P.png The character on the right is just a decorative cameo. One thing to note is that the three gold bags in the upper-middle area trigger the alarms when you walk up to them, so jump over the blocks to avoid the lasers.
-
@northernnarwhal Congrats!
-
@northernnarwhal If it helps, I can give you some maps of the levels so you don't have any surprise dumb things to deal with later.
-
@northernnarwhal If it helps, there are seven extra gold bags in the first level, so you can just walk past and skip it if you need to (although I'm not sure how well blowing up the security guns blocking your way farther in would go in that case).
-
@northernnarwhal Yeah, making the player a one-hit wonder was a pretty bad design choice.
-
@northernnarwhal Crawl right up to the edge of it and jump from the crouching position. You don't wanna jump down the hole until you've dropped mines down there and flushed it out.
-
@northernnarwhal Most of the lasers don't activate unless you set off a security camera. Crawl through the upper pipe and drop a mine down through the hole to try to take out the camera, then you can head down and collect the gold.
-
There are three cop cars right outside my door. Hopefully whoever they're catching doesn't try to pull something.
-
Honestly though, aside from some level design issues (and explosion debris flying out in random directions why did I do that), I actually kind of enjoyed playing through it. Maybe I'll make an updated version some day with a better engine and less stupid bullpapaya.

I was looking through my folder of old MMF projects and found a game that some of you guys might possibly enjoy. This is from around 2010, and IIRC it was made for some competition where we had to restrict the game to certain graphical limitations. It's got three levels and a boss, and (although I denied it when I made it) it's actually really hard. I think I spent an hour beating it just now, and that's considering I still remembered all the tricks to getting through it. http://pny.lv/huj9
Use + on the numberpad to increase the window's size, or just drag it out yourself. -
Real talk though I'm looking forward to the Animal Crossing party game because it's an excuse to buy an Isabelle amiibo
-
@ceruleanspark Also likely.
-
@ceruleanspark I believe StatusNet encodes all of its strings in UTF-8, so it shouldn't be an issue. My only guess is maybe the site font doesn't have the glyphs for it?
