Seconding that @spots should watch End of Eva after finishing the series, they ran out of money at the end of the series and it's really apparent. End of Eva has an actual budget.

@scoot Oh yeah, aside from the fact that I feel it's a better conclusion to the series it's also just a visual marvel. Striking imagery, gorgeous composition, and some really momentous, weighty action scenes.

RDN something happened to me last Thursday when I was driving home. I had a couple of miles to go - I looked up and saw a glowing orange object in the sky, to the east! It was moving very irregularly... suddenly there was intense light all around me - and when I came to, I was home. What do you think happened to me?

@narwhal I'm tempted to stream myself playing New Game+ if I get time, if I do I'll elaborate on it then. It's got some frustrating design issues, but what does work is really good.

@scoot It's an emotionally exhausting show. I'd like to rewatch it again sometime as a handful of people I know have been watching it lately, but I'd really need to psyche myself up for it.

@scoot When I first watched it I was a kid and it really flew over my head, but then I watched it again late into high school when I was going through a really rough patch and everything just kinda clicked emotionally for me with it. These past few months have been awfully tiring and draining on me, both emotionally and physically, and though I've been trying to hide it people who know me well offline have all expressed concern with behaviours they've noticed me exhibiting. NGE ultimately draws optimistic conclusions to its themes though, so watching through it could end up being the catharsis I need. I dunno.

Hyper Light Drifter is kicking my ass, but it's also largely non-linear and I could just be going the wrong way? It's unclear. On the plus side literally any screenshot from the game would make for a good wallpaper.

@scoot I can relate to this from a DAW perspective. There are days where I'm stuck in a creative rut in Reason but can demo tons of songs in one sitting in Logic, and vice versa. I think the specific advantages and shortcomings of certain programs can facilitate or hinder creative use of those programs at given times.

@narwhal Huh, so it is a real problem then. I've never experienced it before. Unfortunately I started off fine in SAI and then got art block there too.

@scoot I think sometimes it's the program and sometimes you're just creatively blocked regardless, so you could just be stuck in general at the moment, in which case a break might help as you'll give yourself the chance to be inspired by something.
