...and i think the results are pretty good, it definitely flattens things out a lot, and i manage to get the program to generate new outlines on the fly based on an algorithm and where the camera is looking, just wish i could get it to tile along a random spot so that parallel lines don't look so uniform http://rainbowdash.net/url/875929

a few months ago i realized that what the toon shader was REALLY missing was a way to accurately imitate a cheaply inked background that's been painted onto a cel by a Korean child, so i drew this 2160 x 2160 texture that i thought would maybe look like a scratchy black ink line, when tiled and repeated over a great distance... http://rainbowdash.net/url/875928

cartoon crossovers before animation went fully digital were wild because, as the host show (in this case Lilo & Stitch), the burden was often on your animators to draw all these characters that you're not used to working with, and you couldn't (easily) reuse assets from the visiting show, so you get shots like this where everyone is terribly off-model http://rainbowdash.net/url/875846
