@azureblaze Damn, that gun stopped a single shooting? Wow! A whole shooting!
-
@azureblaze Stopped a shooting. A SHOOTing.
-
@azureblaze just because it's stopped sometimes doesn't mean it isn't a problem
-
@azureblaze yesterday you were nobody if you didn't have a sextape go public, before that it was being a spoiled brat, before that it was nihilism
as far as I'm concerned Dank Memes are pretty much the best outcome in ages
and besides, the other option is being a vegan hipster

@azureblaze Just don't buy any
-
@azureblaze not sure about the Corp but where I was smoking was like a culture in and of itself. Almost a requisite.
-
@azureblaze Yeah o7 Good luck mate
-
@azureblaze welcome to the military
-
@azureblaze I never bothered with cigarettes, but I never developed an addiction to cigars back when I smoked them.
-
@azureblaze Oh yeah if you get addicted to something as an adult, on your own, you're an idiot.
-
@azureblaze i had started smoking in much the same way, from the grapevine that it helps with stress, but didn't get thoroughly addicted. Maybe thing is with those who even have an inkling towards addiction and start in the same way, or just feel stressful all the time, just get so used to the motion.
-
@azureblaze Bad parenting? my grandfather would steal cigs from his father to smoke, and when his father found out he grabbed a pack of cigarettes, took him to the range, and made him smoke the whole pack non stop. My grandfather felt so sick after that that he didn't feel like smoking anymore.
-
@azureblaze I tried cigs in mid school and while I didn't hate it, I didn't find the appeal either.
-
@azureblaze Wait, lets assume that there was a mass shooting planned and some guy who happened to conceal carry put an end to his plan, there is no incentive for every press to pick up on that story since it is not big enough. ... Doesn't that mean the "media problem" is bigger than the "gun problem" ?
-
@azureblaze Part of the problem is that gun ownership is often seen as a "partisan" issue. Hispanics, LGBT, women, etc. are put off by what some Republican politicians say, and there are liberal politicians with anti-gun views who prey on their emotions by trying to link gun ownership with such things.
-
@azureblaze Highlighting the instances of an armed civilian stopping a shooter would fatally undermine their anti-gun agenda.
-
@azureblaze Is that smart ?
-
@azureblaze You can do it, you can do it, caving in is for the weak ! *cheers on your belly*
-
@azureblaze Would it be bad? I don't think so. I'd rather give my blood this way instead of being bitten and become a vampire myself.
-
@azureblaze Because we fought black dragons. We had to get into a temple and retrieve a few artifacts and these guys were occupying the temple alongside lizard people who praised the dragons.
-
@azureblaze A draconid from the ghetto got it hard

@azureblaze I mean that beyond the sense of "talking words at each other", the actual concept of "language" is the acquisition of use of communicative tools to convey ideas, both structural and emotional. So to say emojis/emoticons will in their own way reduce linguistics to an absolute primitive state seems a bit presumptuous and lacks the basis of language as an ability outside of the written and spoken (though even in these contexts it falls apart at its own seams). In other words, it's boiling a complicated system down to something far simpler that's easier to understand but doesn't accurately represent its greater use.
-
@azureblaze I dunno about this. I don't think it takes the cultural dissonance of communicative culture into consideration, or how things like art and media construct their own senses of language as well.
-
@azureblaze Thanks. You've been very helpful.
-
@azureblaze One is dangerous and the other is just silly
-
@azureblaze Why are teens so obsessed with drawing kiwi on everything? What's the fascination?
-
@azureblaze Oh, of course, I was just making sure you weren't using the word in a wider connotative sense!
-
@azureblaze It's really relaxing, when I'm not running across four lane roadways dodging Priuses and soccermoms in minivans.
-
@azureblaze I'll gift the damaged book to one of my friends. I had an idea to rip it apart and glue the pages on a box to decorate it but I won't do it.
-
@azureblaze It's "Star Wars" the comic based on the first draft of the film, which differs a lot from the final product. I'm living in Germany, so the shipping costs might exceed the value of the book.
