  18. When I was learning to code, the thing that always confused me the most was the "continue" statement. I used to think that "if x {continue;}" meant that it would stop the code from executing further if x wasn't true, which was weird but made the most sense to me because of what "continue" normally means. The actual functionality that "continue" gives in coding seems like it should have a name like "skip" or something.

My favorite thing about the left-pad debacle is that npm doesn't have namespacing (meaning only one person can have a packaged named "kik") and the maintainers have no qualms with taking people's packages and reassigning them as they see fit, but the "flaw" they see in their software is that people are allowed to unpublished their own work? That's, like, the worst thing to take away from something like that.
