@razzleberry The former. The latter may have been @scoot
-
@scoot that's a fair point
-
@scoot Prioritise comfort & knowledge over fancy big boy tools and features.
-
@scoot yeah I can't imagine it's easy to pass judgement on one program when you're so used to another, and I'm bad at change but at the same time I want to use big boy programs
-
@scoot well it definitely works well for you, I haven't tried using it in a while so I should reconsider
-
-
@scoot it is real good
-
@scoot Have you considered applying with Studio Yotta? It'd certainly be a good way to get your foot in the door.
-
@scoot Congratulations!
-
@scoot Oh neat, I didn't notice the dash from earlier. Congrats on finishing everything, I'm proud of you.
-
@scoot Hot damn, a whole 10 days? Good work, rest up.
-
@scoot Rest in peast http://pny.lv/0ek3p
-
@scoot Sleep forever (also congratulations)
-
@scoot holy kiwi

@scoot I think it was a mixture of 1s and 2s, but on a frame by frame level hardly anything can really match up to those classic Disney flicks as far as animation fluidity is concerned. I know Richard Williams animated most of his work on 1s, but he's run into tons of financial and development issues over his career. 2s are really the most economical choice these days (though for lots of anime they end up being mostly on 3s due to more meticulous designs and really tight budgets).
-
@scoot Eh, you're fine, I'm constantly talking about what I'm doing and posting WIP stuff nobody cares about.
-
@scoot It's a Cintiq Companion 2! I can use it at my PC like a regular monitor but when I'm not at my desk I can take it around with me and work basically anywhere. It's very, very useful but it was also very, very expensive.
-
@scoot Ah, I wasn't sure if there was a way to ask "are you on 1s or 2s?" without literally asking that, but I guess not. I'll keep that in mind for the future. And yeah, from what I've read even in relatively expensive animations 1s are reserved for really high energy scenes.
-
@scoot I've actually been experimenting with 3s a bit, heh. I like the way it looks with slower, more deliberate movements.
-
@scoot Oh, yeah that's what I was asking earlier with "framerate" but I'm not sure what the correct term would be for 1s, 2s, 3s, etc. And even with that in mind it's still a lot of animation, especially for just a day's work.
-
@scoot Obviously some of these are holds and I'm animating on twos, it's not 1 frame = 1 drawing.
-
@scoot What framerate are you animating on? 26 seconds is one day is really impressive.
-
@scoot godspeed
-
@scoot Aww shucks, that means a lot to me. Thanks. http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/838457

@scoot I value you and several other users here as good friends of mine, and I want you all to succeed and do well.
-
@scoot I wish there was more I could do to help. It seems like there's so much you have to do for this assignment.
-
@scoot It's the least I can do. I know how it feels to have a staggering amount of work to complete and seemingly no time to complete it too, and it's not a good feeling.
-
@scoot Ah, that sounds really rough. In which case, best of luck getting everything done, I believe in you!
