God dammit. Now I feel like a huge quacknozzle. I looked up some rap and I haven't really found anything that fits my definition of "not music". I'm just gonna retract my statement and go somewhere else for a while.
Yes, this means you guys are right and I am wrong.
But no matter what it's all subjective. That's how I felt from the start. -
@rarity I decide for myself what I find to be music and not. Honestly I regret posting that because it's not my intention to say that whatever your listening to isn't music. It's all subjective. If you think it's music, it's music to you. Maybe not to me.

@rarity Yes it is. I can tell quite easily that this is a song. It has more than one note. It's actually quite good.

@derpy128 with the same note being sung over and over, which is not melodical. For example, I consider this: http://pny.lv/86iw music because it has a MELODY to the lyrics.

Rap isn't music. it's rhyming over a beat. Which, granted, can be technically challenging and it's easy to see why someone might like it, but it's certainly not music.

@l1ghtsword My microphone actually acts as a USB audio card. It has a headphone jack on the back of it that allows real time listening to whatever the mic is picking up, streaming audio from the computer, and mixing of anything in between. So it would be good for recording different tracks and syncing them or something.

@techdisk (the Rock Band mic fits quite snugly into the end of a PVC pipe with the wire running through the pipe, by the way)

@l1ghtsword hah. I remember when I used the Rock Band mic stand, a PVC pipe, and a peice of string to make a mic boom. Now I have a proper boom mic. No desk mounted snowball for me!
