In fact, and here's a thing: the Wii actually runs multiple OSes at different times. The Home menu is one OS, and each game runs on its own OS, and adds onto that. Everything you see in a game (including that screen when you press "home") is straight off the game disk. Literally. Everything.
-
@thewaifutyphoon you mean the brawl hacks?
-
@redenchilada I KNEW I had homebrewed my Wii for a reason! Link?
-
@thewaifutyphoon yup. You can still use use old Smash Stack exploit and homebrew the Wii mode. Oh Nintendo, with that one game you have forever made the Wii completely and utterly hacked.
-
@stardust In fact, I'm almost 99.99% sure the Wii does not use any form of Linux. I was browsing the Wii homebrew blog and even in their most technical posts I didn't see a single instance of Linux.
-
@stardust yeah, I would think people would have found a way to massively hack the Nintendo stuff by now if they had based it on Linux itself.
-
When I buy a computer, I want it to have more than a single use. Chromebooks have a single use. Internet. I at least can do pixel art and play a game boy emulator on my laptop without internet. But, that's just me.

@stardust [citation needed]
-
@techdisk also its chrome so ew.
-
@mrmattimation There's LITERALLY nothing ChromeOS can do without internet. Which is why its useless to me.
-
@stardust Uhh....the Wii, PS3, and 3DS certainly don't use Linux. Android and most industry servers do, but not game consoles.
-
@mrmattimation incorrect.
-
Hey you know how you guys all use adblock on youtube? Well it seems they've finally given up. http://pny.lv/2iqn

@mrmattimation Yeah, That's probably it.
-
... Why the bork do i know so much about the PlayStation line? jeez.
-
@mrmattimation It uses the exact same power cable as the PS1, and is compatible with the PS3 power cable. Of course the original PS1/2 cable is polarized, so using a non polarized plug like the PS3 one is a bit dangerous.
-
@colfax Huh. My tablet allows me to connect my PS3 controller up. Of course it's a sony tablet and its all proprietary... but there's like no games that support it either. meh.
-
@mastertdi ok. If you still can't find it I'll buy the ps2 off you.
-
@mastertdi Either way, just go to any game store and get a PS3 AV cable of any type. It works on everything but PS4.
-
@mastertdi Have a PS1? Same AV cable.
-
@mrmattimation I never realised just how bad the browser on my DSi was until I got an iPod Touch. I then never realised how bad the browser on my iPod was until I got an android.
-
@techdisk well, useless until now.
-
@mastertdi Use the useless not hdmi AV cable from your PS3.
-
