  3. So I've been playing Spyro the Dragon for PS1 on a tiny little old TV. I even have to use a RF adaptor because it doesn't have any other video input.

  4. @thelastgherkin i know. I meant, in the basically impossible senerio where they specifically tried to hire me to do SFX, I would only do it on the condition it was realistic.

  5. @thelastgherkin "ENHANCE. ENHANCE." "YOU CANT GET A FACE OUT OF FOUR PIXELS. SHUT UP AND GET A BETTER VIDEO."

  6. @thelastgherkin I would do it, but only if they came to me because then I could say I wouldn't go on unless they made those scenes realistic. Never would happen, but still.

  7. Oh yeah, by the way this whole week in the evening I will not have WiFi and will be relying on my tiny 100 MB data plan. I probably won't be online anywhere very much.

  15. *sigh* I put all this work into recording my floppy drives playing music, and what's holding me from posting a video now? My camera has a dead battery. *facepalm*

  17. @pony It's not even that. I was playing Gran Turismo and the track literally looked like it was moving around like water because the vectoring was so off. (not sure if vectoring is the right term, but still)

  18. @redenchilada Which non-epsxe emulator do you use?

Tuesday, 27-May-14 17:02:06 UTC from web in context
  19. @nachsplitter Naw. They try to be, but you still don't get the same feeling.
Also, the fact it attempts to upscale the graphics causes some very weird effects due to the low resolution of the textures. Original equipment all the way.

  20. You know what feels good? Using a PS1 emulator with actual legit games that I own. And a PS3 controller emulating an Xbox controller.

  28. Its a terrible, but interesting, system. You can see it in action by playing a really old game (like Wii Sports) and in the middle of the game ejecting the disk. The slot will not light up. Newer games make the slot light up when you eject the disk, because those versions of the "base" OS have that feature.

Monday, 26-May-14 04:37:51 UTC from web
  29. @redenchilada yup. Nintendo has literally no way whatsoever of updating a game once its out.

Monday, 26-May-14 04:35:38 UTC from web in context
  30. @techdisk The GameCube mode has its own specific "base" OS that locks out the Wii only hardware.
