  5. @yuri Yeah, I mentioned her a couple of times. A 13 year old girl, with outstanding capabilities in most things. Able to grasp everything I tell her and make use of that knowledge. Lots of charisma and the ability to use that as a weapon and tool. And really funny.

      • @yuri Of course it is, but their goals have no proper intellectual basis. If they were to decide what was supposed to happen, it would result in absolute disaster.

      • @yuri you're awesome to talk to. The way I view probability is to difficult for me to type, however I don't view anything as ever being random so that's a start.

      • @yuri Their parents did, which is what led to the train wreck it turned into.

        • @ponydude Ah- I was saying that there is evidence that we DO affect the show, but that except in the one instance that turned into a train wreck we don't affect anything that would be visible to the target audience. And expressing my hope that the creators learn from the derpy incident that it should stay this way.

        • @ceruleanspark That's an error many of our prouder fans make, I admit, but that's not what i'm getting at. (Of course i want to believe we're important, but i have no need of Hasbro's acknowledgment to enjoy the show.) I think the show's success appealing to girls is high as well, but if none of those girls' parents (whom I'll argue might, in some cases, be considered bronies/pegasisters) supported the show, then I doubt nearly as many girls would be watching it, or at the very least they wouldn't want to buy related toys for their kids, and, consequently, MLP might not have even gotten a second season so that girls wouldn't be inspired by its message, etc.. Maybe you're right about our patronage not having much impact, and maybe not. Maybe I should look more at brony parents...

        • @pony The target audience I keep referring to actually includes those parents- it's "young girls and their parents". This explains to a great degree how the Brony community was able to form in the first place, because being appealing to parents is a good way to be appealing to adults in general.

            • @yuri for the record, I didn't make the sword analogy to give you something easier to argue, it actually fit quite well: if you a a part of a world that never knew war or any kind of violence, and you're trying to invent the sword, even if you somehow knew what you were making you'd have to pretty much invent reasons to use it, because you'd either be the first to or the first to perceive it as necessary. I was simply using a more dramatic example to clarify that, but I forgot whenever anyone makes a relatively simple analogy the analogy gets picked apart to death. This isn't really a rant on you, just thapopular debate method in general. Just needed to get off my chest that it's a pet peeve of mine, but I'm not mad or hold it against you or anything.
