@yuri Nahh... They don't have enough flashy lights.

@ponydude But allowing air into a bulb causes the whole thing to stop, if I'm remembering my random trivia correctly.
-
@ponydude I'm surprised. I would've thought you'd use good variable naming habits.
-
@ponydude I personally go OCD crazy if I'm writing a program of any sort that doesn't have descriptive names for everything.
-
-
!torontobronies i say we get a meet up down. i wasnt able to go to the last one and i wanna make up for that. im still thinking lazer quest and if we do do it i can book rooms and stuff and order pizza and stuff (maybe)

@roberoonska yay!

-
@yuri Yeah, I mentioned her a couple of times. A 13 year old girl, with outstanding capabilities in most things. Able to grasp everything I tell her and make use of that knowledge. Lots of charisma and the ability to use that as a weapon and tool. And really funny.
Tuesday, 13-Mar-12 02:40:52 UTC from web-
@yuri Yeah. I only care for specific individuals. And that means bothering enough to do something just for one. The species in itself demonstrated being far too weak and idiotic.
-
@yuri I care for most of the ones I like just enough to check if they're still there. Not much more. Only one demonstrated being something more, enough to make me REALLY care.
-
@yuri I don't know. People needs to be more rational.
-
-
!torontobronies I wasn't able to make the last meet up because I was at mtac but what about we get a meet up going at laser quest (all credit goes to @luna4life for the idea) its $9 to get in but we may be able to get a party room and we could get like pizza and stuffs I say we do it!
Monday, 12-Mar-12 02:21:52 UTC from web-

!Torontobronies For those who going to show up. We're leaving the food court around 2:30 to 2:45 pm.
Sunday, 11-Mar-12 18:09:44 UTC from web -
!torontobronies So tomorrow we are meeting up at the Eatin Centre's food court around 1:00pm. The meet-up will go until 4:00pm, but it might last longer. Anything after the meeting at the Food Court will be decided as we go along.
Saturday, 10-Mar-12 17:00:56 UTC from web -
@yuri Of course it is, but their goals have no proper intellectual basis. If they were to decide what was supposed to happen, it would result in absolute disaster.
Friday, 09-Mar-12 23:18:33 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark They are not a charity organization, they merely contribute to charities, though.
-
@doates With an issue as complex as this, jumping on any bandwagon without reading around first is definitely a mistake. I'm not sure what I think, but I know that I don't trust Invisible Children one bit, and would strongly advise others to donate to other groups.
-
@ceruleanspark @doates Wonderful to see that whoever is running the site is paying attention. If only there was a more informative and less sensationalist article or documentary to present the situation to the masses, as well as an organization that will be more sincere.

Prediction of tommorrow's episode: Twilight Sparkle does something that causes a fight so large that she had to go and teleport back in time to warn her not to do that thing that started the conflict, which she will do ONLY Because she was trying to take some precautions, which started the mess. #prediction
-
@ponyray usually spoilers take place AFTER that thing's been released... otherwise its a prediction :/
-
-
@yuri you're awesome to talk to. The way I view probability is to difficult for me to type, however I don't view anything as ever being random so that's a start.
Friday, 09-Mar-12 20:12:29 UTC from web-
@yuri here's my curiosity: does probability actually mathematically express anything, or is it just human's history biggest cop-out and avoidance of crunching numbers?
-
-
@yuri Their parents did, which is what led to the train wreck it turned into.
Friday, 09-Mar-12 09:35:10 UTC from web-
@ponydude Ah- I was saying that there is evidence that we DO affect the show, but that except in the one instance that turned into a train wreck we don't affect anything that would be visible to the target audience. And expressing my hope that the creators learn from the derpy incident that it should stay this way.
-
@ceruleanspark That's an error many of our prouder fans make, I admit, but that's not what i'm getting at. (Of course i want to believe we're important, but i have no need of Hasbro's acknowledgment to enjoy the show.) I think the show's success appealing to girls is high as well, but if none of those girls' parents (whom I'll argue might, in some cases, be considered bronies/pegasisters) supported the show, then I doubt nearly as many girls would be watching it, or at the very least they wouldn't want to buy related toys for their kids, and, consequently, MLP might not have even gotten a second season so that girls wouldn't be inspired by its message, etc.. Maybe you're right about our patronage not having much impact, and maybe not. Maybe I should look more at brony parents...
-
@pony The target audience I keep referring to actually includes those parents- it's "young girls and their parents". This explains to a great degree how the Brony community was able to form in the first place, because being appealing to parents is a good way to be appealing to adults in general.

@yuri This ol' colt's been around the d&d table plenty of times, son. I wouldn't worry about it. Oh wait, you aren't. Okay, then...

Friday, 09-Mar-12 06:24:29 UTC from web -

Friday, 09-Mar-12 06:17:29 UTC from web -
@yuri hey do you know any other games I could download? I didn't really like the thief one.

@coltonrawrr I think there comes a time in every pony's life when he must experience the adventures of the super Nintendo... again.

@yuri does all mathematics have to? I'm not sure what trap door you are leading me into (but I'll go if there are ponies)

@everyponysings thanks for the visual reference on what I was talking about. Pythagoras... Would've never remembered the spelling!

@crusader8 You're welcome! I happen to love mathematics, especially ancient Greek mathematics. :) (Can't do pony music all the time, now can I?)

@yuri for the record, I didn't make the sword analogy to give you something easier to argue, it actually fit quite well: if you a a part of a world that never knew war or any kind of violence, and you're trying to invent the sword, even if you somehow knew what you were making you'd have to pretty much invent reasons to use it, because you'd either be the first to or the first to perceive it as necessary. I was simply using a more dramatic example to clarify that, but I forgot whenever anyone makes a relatively simple analogy the analogy gets picked apart to death. This isn't really a rant on you, just thapopular debate method in general. Just needed to get off my chest that it's a pet peeve of mine, but I'm not mad or hold it against you or anything.
Thursday, 08-Mar-12 13:41:48 UTC from web-
@yuri Now THAT is a good philosophical debate.
-
@yuri Personally, I'm of the opinion that ideas are discovered.
-
@yuri That pretty much sums up the concept of "idea". Some may say that you require a human brain to postulate that idea though, and that may lend itself to ideas being "invented" by humans.

@alias @yuri Thing is, with this kind of logic, it's impossible to prove anything, so everything is open to debate without end. >.>
Thursday, 08-Mar-12 08:09:07 UTC from web-
@alias What about the things that work BECAUSE of mathematics? Like uhm... computers... any kind of mechanical or technical engineering... or really, any kind of engineering at all... DNA sequencing? Chemistry...
-
@alias Pfft. Mathematics has been working for real-world purposes for far too long to be coincidence.
-
@yuri Technically, it would be a stream of coincidences, that have been happening predictably for hundreds of years. ...That would be "science". ;p
-
-
@yuri alright :P
Thursday, 08-Mar-12 07:59:18 UTC from web -
@yuri Also which would you recommend to play first? Thief 2, or the first?
Thursday, 08-Mar-12 07:58:25 UTC from web -
@yuri alight :P, but they all have such little seeders? so my questions is, are the fast downloading?
