Most of them want me to activate a gift card for them to “test” the system or some other such nonsense, I’ll usually go through the steps they give me, asking lots of stupid questions along the way, and then when I’ve “activated” the card I just tell them the card number is “zero”. Most just hang up at that point. One guy audibly huffed and hung up. Another guy got so mad he cursed me out and asked why I didn’t just hang up the phone. Scam calls to me turn into prank calls very quickly.

Now, I, fully vaccinated AND having caught the virus, personally am proceeding through life as I did prior to the pandemic, with the exception that I wear a mask to work and in crowded places still, but the idea that there should be zero precautions taken whatsoever and people just shouldn’t care about it anymore is frankly incredibly shortsighted.

i worked very hard on this cartoon so please nobody point out the shadow glitch in the first scene where a large square shadow can be faintly seen on the floor because the shadow is just a tinted copy of the swf and the swf had a square for a scene transition

Are there bars in airports? I’m flying to England in a couple of weeks and I just realized my return trip has a four hour layover in Lisbon. The Potato Knishes am I gonna do in Portugal for four hours?

The stylistic influence that Edd Gould’s animation had on my work is obvious. Although I’ve tried, in recent years, to downplay it, I think it’s impossible to really deny just how influential Eddsworld was to me. I wonder a lot if what I’m doing meets the standard that his work sets. Am I using that influence to carry on his legacy? Or am I doing him a disservice, like robbing his grave and stripping him of what made him so highly regarded in an attempt to further my own career? Am I a representative of the generation he inspired, a piece of the future, or am I merely a phony, a copycat who clings to the past? These thoughts go through my head a lot. I still wish he’d been around to see it. His death inspired me to take animation seriously as an art form, but the truth is that I’d trade that all away, because I don’t think my presence in this game comes anywhere close to making up for what was lost ten years ago.

There aren’t words that can describe how I’m feeling today that I haven’t already said in past years. Whether it’s five years or ten or twenty, the size of the hole that Edd’s passing left on the independent animation scene doesn’t get any smaller, and today doesn’t get any less painful.

Red Dead Redemption II is a game where shooting your (CHEATING, btw) poker opponent in the face with a shotgun, completely destroying his head and sending brain matter and skull fragments all over the table, is only slightly more serious than robbing a store, and chucking dynamite into a bank is GREATLY more serious than shooting the dude in the face.
