  1. Andor is back. It is stunning that they release the series in batches of three episodes at once. An entire movie so to speak. Peak Star Wars.

  2. I have already used my 4th 1kg spool of PETG filament. I have only two spools of PETG left, one very old and one 1 year old. Already ordered 5 more spools. printing bins for oranization is taking its toll. Still cheaper than buying something off the shelf. I don't have Adam Savage money to buy racks worth of Sortimo cases.

  3. @scribus Me too. I shave once a month and wait until it gets itchy. I only have a simple safety razor and an electric shaver. It is sufficient but I like neither of those because my skin is easily irritable. I'd like to permanently remove my beard with lasers but I fear it'll destroy my skin.

  4. Who knew that wooden skewers are hard to find. I went to 4 stores and only one had some. I needed a bunch of them for propping up my tomato plants.

  5. @zeldatra They are sponsoring a ton of youtubers I watch. It is insane. I guess they want to spread their net as much as possible. They are still thousand times better than the average scammy mobile game or shady finance service or esotheric crap. In comparison sex toys are more trustworthy than those.

  6. Delving into smaller youtube channels. The sponsor segments are definitely weirder than the ones of the bigger and more established channels. It surely shows the desperation the creators have. A furniture modification/restoration channel that is sponsored by a LED beauty face mask? Questionable meets desperation.

  8. Today I was the D&D Dungeon Master and my players were skipping half of my content I prepared. Good that I had had enough to get over that without a lot of juggling around. I pushed the first big encounter I have prepared to the place of the second big encounter where they ended up due to excellent planning and circumventing my obstacles. The problem now is to fill out two more sessions with appropriate content.

  9. @nerthos The whole series is a delusion of Twilight Sparkle. She does not have friends or got any new. She was sent to the Ponyville Asylum after she was hit with a book on the head in the first episode. After that she got extreme into the believe of the Elements of Harmony and that other ponies of the asylum are 1) her friends and 2) that they are representations of those elements including herself. It is obviously a constructed coincidence born of Twilight's deranged mind. All the episodes we have seen are ways to cope with the fact that she cannot and will not have any sense of normalcy which are represented as villains and social problems that her *fictional* friends solve for/with her. This culminates in the deranged belief of becoming a princess and the belief of being able to fly. That is a classic when it comes to insane behavior and mind. Anyone thinking else is plainly wrong and should sent to the moon marked as a lunatic.

  11. Strongly heating up the remaining red jalapeno made them bearable. Beating heat with heat. I put them on a pizza and they were not so bad. Degenerating capsaicin with heat is the key. The sauce I made a little while ago was never heated so much or long to break down the hot stuff. Fresh and uncooked will never enter my digestive tract ever again.

  12. Spent the last few days cleaning up my cellar. https://i.imgur.com/SdJfZVj.jpeg I bought some wall-mounted shelves for all the mid-size items that are too small for the big shelves and too big for the drawers. The drawers have mostly small parts like screws, bolts, and small tools, all neatly organized in 3d-printed bins. I put a countertop on the three containers to make this a small electronics workbench. The small parts organizers on top of the workbench have all my micro-controller stuff.

  13. @zeldatra Soo... In essence I think it is pretty much like this: "This outrage is outrageously outrageous! Meanwhile, the truly outrageous thing is nothing to worry about. And now to our outrageous sponsor who profits from outrage with this new outrageous product for a new outrageously expensive price! Now buy that thing to fight the outrage!"

  14. @scribus BuT rEd OnEs LoOk BeTtEr! Yeah... I have currently a hand full of green ones on my plants at this moment. I'll harvest them tomorrow. Hopefully they won't stab my tongue with a hot dagger like the red ones.

  15. One jalapeno in my salad got me the wrong way. I cut it too small to remove it, too much salad to toss out. I ate through all of it and with enough ranch dressing it got less of a sting.
The current Jalapeno plants are dying, so this season I will plant only one or two and give them more care. Currently my 4 Jalapeno and 1 Cayenne are putting out weekly one or two ripe deep red chilis. Maybe I should collect them when they are still green.

  16. My tomato plants are not that well developed as anticipated. I guess keeping them in the kitchen at the window towards the north side wasn't the brightest idea. My mother has some tomato plants of her own growing and planted them a little bit later than me, but hers are looking healthier all around. She kept them towards the south window.

  17. Cleaning up my cellar is not easy. So many little things, randomly thrown into boxes. They need to be sorted, somehow. Because they are so randomly thrown together it takes way too much space, twice or thrice more than it'd be sorted. For example a half-sorted one was stuff for my bicylces. I used small foldable plastic basket to seperate a few items to make them more accessible. One basket for brakes and inner tubes, one for bells and attachmets, one for reflectors and lights, one for bicycle tools like a 13mm wrench for the wheel hub nuts or a chain separator.

  18. I'm waiting for a possible release of a new Sony Xperia 10 phone in May. The Xperia 10 VI was close to what I want. I could buy last year's but rumors are a new one will be released soon. I guess I can live a month or two with a dying battery. It is my best shot of getting a decent phone with a headphone jack, no camera punch-hole or notch, and a straight-forward UI, and a somewhat OK long software support period with updates. I hope it'll be about the same price and actually worth it.

  19. @scribus Just to be clear: Lower German is not that common, however in casual conversation it has some foothold in everyday use, especially common expressions and traditional stuff like in food or handiwork or hunting. In comparison the Bavarian dialect is 20 times more common. It is not dead but there is definitely a dying trend. A local broadcaster has a one hour news block that uses lower German throughout.

  20. @scribus East Frisea up to Hamburg is the main turf of lower German also called "Plattdeutsch" but it is also "common" up north along the coast of the North Sea. Some words are also heard in south Lower Saxony to the Harz mountains. I use sometimes "moin" because it is universally applicable at any time of day and it is short.

  21. Working for a project in northern Germany. Every morning it begins with everyone greeting with "moin". It is not a abbreviation for "morning" but it is an old lower German word for "good" and "pleasant".

  22. I wanted to finish my 3d printer repairs but NO, the self-designed part cooling fan ducts had to be redesigned 6 times because of some dumb issues. On top of that I had some print failures.

about a year ago from web
  23. The air duct I was using for years is utterly apple. With my latest attempt I saw that the fan has not enough pressure to push the air through. I only noticed it now. I modeled one myself with less restriction in flow. I'm confident that it is better but I didn't use any simulations or other verification.

  24. For me it is easier to recreate a 3d model in CAD than to do the modification I need in blender. Due to a new hotend I grabbed a part cooling fan duct off the Internet and had to do some modifications to make it work. I needed to extend some parts for clearance. Yeah... I could do that in blender with not a lot of problems BUT now it is easier for me because I have a CAD model now. It only took me 30 minutes to recreate. Once I used Cinema 4D and it was easier to grasp the workflow and UI for teenage me than blender.

  25. Almost repaired my 3d printers. Printer one got a mainboard replacement and a new hotend and a new extruder. The other had already the upgraded mainboard but was mostly disassembled for another hotend (E3D V6) but it was too difficult because I had to reengineer the mounts and cooling so I stopped that due to lack of motivation. That one also got a new hotend and a new extruder. Both need new matching part cooling fan ducts for the new hotend. Also I have to compile my own firmware. Maybe tomorrow I will have 4 working FDM printers again.

  26. @scribus I have one Cayenne plant and 5 Jalapeno. They don't bear a lot of fruit but right now I am plenty served by them. I planted seeds for their replacement, as they are supposed to be living about one year. I don't get cold sweat or anything but their hotness can be slightly overwhelming. Maybe I need them to cook for a lot longer. They were basically fresh when I put them into the sauce. As of now I wouldn't go eating any hotter stuff than that.

  29. Slowly but surely everything gets to a point I'm seeing an improvement using Gridfinity after printing several spools of filament. Almost all my screws are organized, even the ones from my box or random screws.I won't stop but it will slow down a little bit as I need more cabinets with drawers as it is probably the most ideal environment.

about a year ago from web
  30. I am 3d printing Gridfinity bins for weeks and yet it isn't enough. There is more things to organize. More things to put into bins. Printing grids, printing bins, printing labels, stacking bins, getting more metal cabinets, more to put into.
