  1. Hmmm... Like a Dragon Ishin will be an interesting playthrough. It's a PS3 game with new paint, meaning that the gameplay feels old while the graphics look new(-ish). I barely played one hour. I'll need some time to adjust after Gaiden, Judgment and Lost Judgment.

  2. GTA 6... I wonder if there are realistic effects like someone's pee-pee and balls shrinking in the cold.
As expected I was not impressed by anything in the trailer, especially when the release date will be in 2025. It's a nothing burger.

  3. It was cool that it was both a movie as well as a game in one but the cutscenes are sometimes ridiculously long winded. I hate to admit but I clicked through of a lot of the dialogue of the side stuff and quick-read it. I clicked only as fast as I could read it. If I didn't I could easily add another 5 hours to Lost Judgment.

  4. Never in my life, as far as I can remember, have I binged any game (series) as hard as the Yakuza series and spin-offs. I was really into TES Morrowind with 350 hours combing the whole map for items and storing them in the house, as well as finishing all possible quests. Oblivion and Skyrim I was far more restrained. I think I wasted *only* 50 hours with Oblivion and 40 with Skyrim. With the Ryu Ga Gotoku games I have easily spent 500+ hours in total. I don't want to imagine what I could do instead in that time. I was greatly entertained, despite some hardships. Still better than watching Netflix.

  5. The Kaito Files DLC took me 8 hours. It's insane that it's longer and has a better story than most full-price AAA games.

  6. I finished Lost Judgment with 56 hours and almost all side stuff done. Tomorrow I'll play the Kaito Files DLC.

  9. I have spent roughly 25 hours on the high school side missions in Lost Judgment. Towards the end it felt like a goddamn chore. It was very annoying to complete that part because the progression of these missions was not very transparent despite having a menu option that should clear that up. For some missions I had to continue the main story because an ability wasn't unlocked or the time of day wasn't right. Mostly it was because I needed to exit and enter the door more times than necessary so the new quest marker can appear.

  10. I've heard the news that there will be a 20th anniversary release of Beyond Good & Evil. WHY ARE THEY MOCKING ME? Also Ubisoft can die a miserable death.

  11. Lost Judgment soundtrack is banger central. Judgment had some good tracks but over all rather in the middle, while in the sequel the amount of tracks I want to listen outside the game is vastly higher.

  12. @scribus AFAIK there is no Go in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series. There are other equally unappealing games like Koi-Koi, Oicho-Kabu, and Hanafuda.

  13. @adiwan good that I had only to win once. Poker sucks so much. I swear I will throw the towel if I have to play a game of Shogi or Mahjong in a side story.

  14. My final boss in Lost Judgment is Poker. I'm in a chain of side missions that need me to win in Poker (Texas Holdem). Sad thing is that I get always the worst cards and have not even got a dumb pair in 20 games.

  15. Yesterday's D&D session I DM'd was quite the success. I was less dumb than usual but I still stumbled a lot. I have to learn to excuse less while acting as it breaks too much of the immersion. Also the party derailed all my plans. I could still do something but they managed to get to the boss in two sessions instead of three. Also the main deception guy min-maxed this skill to a degree that it's at least 11 or higher (at level 5). It's cool as a player but it creates too many edge cases for a novice DM like me.

  16. OK... hear me out.... I got nothing... Just bought Lost Judgment + DLC for about 45 buckaroos.

  17. I think in the next D&D session I'll reskin gelatinous cubes and oozes to fleshy blobs of vaguely unicorn shaped monsters. Of course they'll be on a sewer map.

  18. @zeldatra I found a copper Deutsche Mark coin (5 Pfennig) about 8 years after the introduction of the Euro. Coincidentally the coin was minted in the year of my birth. It's been in my wallet since then.

  19. Today was my turn as DM for my group. I have successfully survived the stress of the first session and my group has accepted the beginning of my adventure in a unicorn world one-shot (3 sessions long in total). The plot is that a very powerful wizard was on the search for unicorns and traversed through many worlds of the multiverse. The wizard uses the blood of the unicorns and its magical properties to experiment with and graft different monsters together, i.e. a gorilla with a crow head, an octopus with a bear.... In a meta way I'll will reveal, when they personally encounter that wizard, that he is a character I played a very long time that had also that kind of premise of grafting animals together. I used a duckbunny that was used back then also in this session to telegraph that detail.

  20. Trying to keep 30km/h on my bicycle during heavy winds was a bad idea, especially when trying to get through a tunnel. I'm short winded now after that exercise. It's a little fault of mine watching the tachometer and keeping a fixed tempo.

  21. @scribus It took about 4 hours to evacuate about 5000 people out of the area. Then it took another 3 hours to get rid of the bombs including interruptions.
The legendary German efficiency is more a legend now. Living here you'll see that there is a lot left on the table when it comes to efficiency. The biggest and most visible joke are the trains that are always late or don't work when there is any kind of weather.

  22. Today was the day of the bomb disarming. They found a second bomb nearby and disarmed it as well. Nothing happened except for stupid people who were entering the evacuation zone. It happened a few times and delayed the whole operation. People who are caught in the evacuation zone (also in their apartments hiding) get a fine of up to 5000€.

  26. Pocket Circuit Racing is so much trial & error. Buy all parts available -> guesstimate a build -> start a race -> try again -> ... -> race won -> use same build on rival race with same track. Also most times it's safer not to use boosts on a very fast build. I lost more races because I boosted than I want to admit. Also it REALLY sucks that I cannot retry a race immediately. Only time trials allow that. Also quitting is faster than watching all of the loss animation and end card with the points that I don't receive.

  27. I need to look if there is a firmware upgrade for my 8bitdo SF30 controller. I really like it but it is acting up once in a while. Mostly its just the rumble motor constantly rumbling. A few times it happened to disconnect completely (it was wired!) so only turning it off and on again fixes this. Over all not that bad but annoying. Also today it happened that Windows refused to assign the controller to player 1. I had to remove it in the device manager and replugging it again (several times and a reboot) until Windows decided to cooperate.

  28. I couldn't resist and bought LAD Gaiden yesterday. I'm almost like a fanboy at this point towards any game RGG Studio releases. I'm 12 hours in at the moment and it feels like a Kiryu Best Of.

  29. After experiencing the Yakuza/Like A Dragon and Judgment series I have no desire to even think about any GTA game in the future. I don't think that any GTA character will rip off their shirt, revealing a badass tattoo on their back, and fight on the Millennium Tower and demolishing it in the process.

  30. @zeldatra Yeah. It's somewhat unfortunate. Last time I saw Lost Judgment on sale on Steam was about 60€ with the Kaito Files DLC. That price also stings. I don't know if I buy LAD Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name on release. I would like to but 50€ make me think twice, especially when I don't get it on a physical disc.
