@scribus When I vote the booth has no curtain but the free standing booth is orientated in such a way that no one can look. It's literally 3 walls with an integrated table and foldable for easy storage and deployment. Also the amount of people in the voting room is limited to the amount of booths (usually two or three max) and there are voting helpers to ensure there is no cheating.

@scribus I was mostly referring to him not being stupid all the time. Yeah, that was kind of dumb but he is very much self-centered so I could see that in defense of him *heave*. The most aggravating things in the series are all set-ups that go seemingly nowhere.

Disenchantment got a little better. Elfo is still the worst but not as bad as in the previous season.

@drinkingpony Nice

@scribus I'd get an Everdrive first because it seems to be a more versatile tool. I read that there is an unofficial firmware for the Everdrive that supports the mapper of NESMaker games.

I guess I will keep them and don't tell the seller that I got my order.

I have ordered new mainboards for my 3d printers from China. The seller claimed I've sent them back. I wrote them that I didn't and wanted them and wouldn't send them back and it might be an error on their side. And if these were in fact mine they should send them to me asap. Now the catch: They have sent the boards yesterday and I've just received my order right now. I think I will receive additional ones in the next few weeks.

@adiwan "expensive to buy" . Never write something right after waking up before doing anything else.
-
@scribus what is the homebrew hardware? Otherwise an Everdrive is a good deal any day saving you the money to hunt for expensive and rare games that are supposed by it.
-
@scribus How it is used I think it can also stand for makeup language.

No matter where I worked there was always at least one asshole who has no grasp on how to use a toilet brush. I work with people with higher than average education (I assume, I hope) with a higher pay grade than average, however there are some people who lack the basic education on cleaning the toilet bowl from brown Fluffle Puff streaks. Over the course of a week every day I saw a toilet that was afflicted with disgusting brown stains. Besides other points that has ground my gears almost teethless.

@scribus That's actually funny and interesting in comparison of the Linux/Tux shirt I have. I have LINUX written on the front, whereas the text is additionally mirrored in the horizontal over the vertical axis of the X, and a classic Tux on the back.

I just ordered a (cheap) crimp tool just to add a connector to a new fan for my 3D printer. Hopefully it'll be utilized for more than that.

@drinkingpony Sometimes people don't get the basicness of HTML. BTW: I have a tux t-shirt but I haven't worn it for almost a decade and I usually peel off every sticker possible except for the ThinkPad logo stickers. Those OS, graphics card and processor stickers on the palm rest are the worst.

@scribus Whistles? I thought these were already a battalion of enormous church pipe organs that attempt to play the longest note.

@drinkingpony I wish. I got it off amazon from a 3rd party seller and it was the last one and it was not cheap (120€). I saw a similar model for 80€ but the order got cancelled because it was a warehouse error and wasn't actually available. My keyboard that I have has the model number 55Y9017 (site with model numbers for other language layouts http://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/printableversion.wss?docURL=/common/ssi/rep_ca/0/877/ENUSZG09-0520/index.html ). The one I initially wanted was FRU57Y4655 but it cannot be found anywhere.
-
@drinkingpony Somewhat yeah. This is why it's great. It's basically the keyboard and a USB control board. It has even holes on the other side for draining liquid in case of a spill (like a Thinkpad laptop). I wish it just had a little bit more weight. It´s meant to be portable so I don't weight that against it.

You can call me a heretic but I like my FN key on the far left (ctrl and fn placement switched). I like it because I don't need to spread my pinkie finger for CTRL+C, so I just slide my hand down from the base finger placement down and I'm right there where I want to be.
-
@drinkingpony It contains everything I despise: Java, Eclipse, custom Domain Specific Languages, a custom build system, model based software development,.

The keyboard http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/875189

On some better news: I have my almost "dream" keyboard. It's a USB Thinkpad Keyboard with older style keys (no chiclet). The keyboard feels a little bit flimsier than my proper laptop Thinkpad keyboard, however it is still 1000 times better than a modern laptop keyboard like on a newer Dell Latitude laptop. On my company laptop I have huge difficulties typing because of the weird and unnatural form and placement of the keys. I often use F12 and 9 times out of 10 I press the print key or the carriage return key is super slim in the horizontal. Also I have with my new keyboard a proper working "nub". As much I appreciate the gesture from Dell to include the nub in the keyboard but it ain't work or feel right. That and the "mouse" buttons are horribly spongy with almost no tactile feedback and the actuation threshold is too low.

@drinkingpony it's that my company does not offer the projects I'd like to do. I was lent to another company to make VR trainings but they cannot afford me anymore due to budget cuts. I really enjoyed that despite having some problematic moments. I'd do something in a similar vein. Right now I'm stuck programming for a sensor simulation development environment.

Within a month my work went from good to just plain suck.

Dammit. I bought something a youtuber has advertised that was not even a sponsored product nor a product in a review.

No wonder my stepper motors were super hot. The voltage reference was out of whack. They were about 1.3V instead of 0.84V.

@drinkingpony Haha. How comes? I only know someone I studied with and was super enthusiastic about the Hololens and bought it for himself for playing around (as in programming with it). I'd say he was a sane guy and quite intelligent so I think that was a purchase with more promise for the future. As for non-programmers it'd be definitely insane.

I'm soooo glad I made the 3d printer board upgrade with better stepper drivers. It is so silent now that the fans are making the greatest noise. I'm so mad that I didn't do much earlier. To be honest the "ideal" board was recently released that fits into the existing enclosure and I got that. So my anger is very much no deal. I just could have had a significantly better sleep on some prints. A few times the motor noises made it hard to get to sleep and the printer and me were separated by two doors.
