@zeldatra It's supposed to be a fandom for fans of anthropomorphic animals, but a pervasive culture of inclusion causes many of them to blur that definition to the point of meaninglessness. And even when they do agree with their own definition, many of them still fail to grasp that you can be a fan of something WITH anthropomorphic animals without being a fan OF anthropomorphic animals.

@omni The CCC is difficult to explain. You have to experience it first hand. Start with considering that being a hacker transcends computing or even technology in general. Being a hacker is an approach to life. Go from there and you've got an idea what kind of people you deal with.

@omni The CCC. And the answer is that warm and fuzzy feeling that tells you you're home. I also admire the EFF, note that both organisations are more about culture and society than endorsing free software. So if you'd say strictly software I'd have to join the FreeBSD Foundation.

@ceruleanspark . I myself LOVE the show, and see no reason to “lose faith” in this fanbase as I greatly enjoy its output of content, and do have a lot of fun interacting with other fans at meetups and conventions. It has been said that the fanbase is in a decline, but I reject this as it is simply a quiet period while everyone wait for the third season to premiere, having been involed in the fanbase since may 2011, I can say it was the exact same in the run up to the second season, a cease in official content led to a decline in activity, but suddenly skyrocketed with the airing of the first episode of season 2, which I fully expect to happen.
