!vgp Started playing Mass Effect 3 this morning. Haven't made it to the ending yet, so there's plenty of time for it to go downhill, but so far, it's easily the best Mass Effect game I've ever played.

@starlightbolt Skyrim was a cheaply made game, all the glitches and bugs people are reporting prove that, even if it is fixable. I'm just saying there are plenty of games out there that follow the same style that are a lot better made

@macpony55 I really don't know what your qualification of "same style" is but I haven't seen too many games like Skyrim. And Fallout 3 was pretty good, but it got super boring when I could just use VATS to kill EVERYTHING (the other fallouts were top down RPGs not the same at all)

@puzzlemint I had none of the games before except for Psychonauts that I bought originally sealed for XBox 1 for damn cheap not long ago. $6.60 for the bundle is also quite good.

!vgp I can track the fall of EA! It goes as such: Army of Two 40th day, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Dragon Age 2, Dead Space 2, Mass Effect 3. Most of the reasons they are bad is story wise, gameplay is still good.

@scribus Most OP thing I've seen was a peter griffon that was made as a joke (I think). He basically farted and everything died, or something obscene like that.

Tonight I learned that anti-aliasing is pretty much the only thing that affects framerate in Source-engine games, or at least Portal anyway. Switching from 4X MSAA to none made the framerate near perfect, even with nearly all other settings maxed, on my basic-spec laptop. Can't wait to try this with other games. !vgp

@ecmc Yeah, AA is _really_ computationally expensive, and a lot of lower-end graphics processors (especially those in laptops) don't have any hardware support for it, so it can't be offloaded to there. (Not that lots of the other stuff isn't computationally expensive too, but most of that has wide enough hardware support that your CPU doesn't have to do it.)

@yodelerty Probably because I've absorbed a lot of Americanisms by osmosis. That and my wonky sleep patterns do tend to combine to give an impression of an incorrect nationality.
