  1. @ceruleanspark His reply was "Taksi", which is some "tropical fruit drink" or the like. Is it safe to leave him in my room?

  2. "Omni, why is there shadow below your bed." "Omni, why don't you have a Sombra poster." "Omni, why is the ground so nice to lie on." SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY FRIEND

  3. There's nothing more awesome than companies purposely ignoring your tickets for at least half a year, and promising to "answer within 48 hours", and then sending you a request to return a product you already returned long ago. I wonder what's the best way to kiwi off our "Best Managed Company" (as they like to call themselves) without getting in trouble myself. I think I'm going to act like I never received the e-mail. There is no "answer before X" date anyway, so that shouldn't be too hard. I'm at least going to attempt wasting as much of their time as I possibly can, for wasting so much of my time.

  6. @broniebrown Brings a whole new meaning to tabletop gaming! You get it? Because it's drawn on top of a table? Hah? Hah? I'm sorry, I'll let myself out.

  7. Today, I noticed that Crazy Language, my favorite netlabel (when it comes to music, not to tagging) apparently released their 19th release 3 months before their 18th release. That's cool, I guess.

  8. @ceruleanspark Sounds like a good idea

  9. @ceruleanspark Huh. Well, I'd rather not install more stuff on the Windows systems of which I can't be 100% sure it won't give any false positives or the likes and breaks something again, and I'm running GNU/Linux-libre myself, so I don't see that going to be installed any time soon. Still, seems semi-interesting.

  10. @omni Herp-derp, it's @zeldatra, of course he won't consider that to be a problem.

  11. @zeldatra And that is a problem, why?

  12. @ceruleanspark I suppose this is a "one-program-to-update-everything" thing similar to the Package Managers we have under GNU/Linux systems?

  13. @fortecadenza My dad updated Mozilla Firefox all by himself today because, and I'm quoting him: "you said I should always keep everything up-to-date". I'm proud of him.

  14. @scribus Oh look, people actually making good products. I hope this idea gets the required support, as rape is a terrible thing and anything which decreases the amount of times it happens is great.

  15. @zeldatra Still? I thought the "COMEDY = TRAGEDY + TIME" formula should make it extremely funny due to the amount of deaths and the few years which have already passed.

  16. @xrevan86 I'll have to convert then, which kinda makes the awesome and easy built-in screen recording feature from GNOME3 (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R to start and stop recording) somewhat less useful :(

  19. @electroidfire I'm enjoying Casey LaLonde's music (his whole discography is free-to-download during the holidays, check it out: http://caseylalonde.bandcamp.com/album/beware) and... Well, nothing else, really. How are you?

  20. @abigpony I know, I know. I seem to be having one of my extremely rare "Hey, life is awesome!" moods and I figured I may as well share that bit of happiness, even though it won't be nearly enough to compensate for the amount of sadness I spread around here.

  21. We all have great friends, a community we feel part of, hobbies that allow us to have fun and we're not literally rotting away without any food at all. I know it is ironical for me to say this, as I'm clearly not the best person at "being happy", but why are we all sad, at very least every now and then? Our lives could've been so much worse than they are, why aren't we enjoying and appreciating them as much as we should?

  22. @ceruleanspark Apparently the other server admins also wanted to get rid of POP and IMAP support, in favor for MAPI/RPC. I honestly know nothing about Lotus Notes, except that I didn't hear a lot of good things about it, and I have no clue what Domino is.

  23. I completely forgot how enjoyable Casey LaLonde's album Beware! is. It's a good thing I redownloaded it after he made it free for the holidays, and I would truly recommend anyone to give this album a try: http://caseylalonde.bandcamp.com/album/beware !ccmusic #

  25. @fortecadenza That's not "by choice". Really, I would even use Lynx if I could.

  26. @widget The worst issues I'm having with it currently is it locking up on me for a minute or two during heavy use. Ever since I switched from nvidia to nouveau, I haven't really had freezes it couldn't recover from anymore. But yes, the stability could definitely be better, and I do understand it's a big issue (I stopped using KDE because it used to segfault once every 3 hours on me, which made it practically unusable).

  27. @scribus Well, assuming everything works I won't have problems with downloads failing because I don't have enough storage space in /tmp/, and it should be emptied daily. We'll see if it all works out as planned <3

Monday, 03-Dec-12 07:43:16 UTC from web in context
  28. @pony Ah. Well, most custom ROMs (like CyanogenMod, which is awesome) have a feature like that built-in. If you also want to upgrade to Android 4.1 or 4.2 (ICS/JB), you could consider switching to CyanogenMod :P

  29. @widget I have tried Cinnamon, but quickly decided it was not for me. GNOME3 may be unstable and somewhat resource-hungry, and their default software a complete tablet-optimised mess, but gnome-shell is one of the most awesome things I have ever used, despite its limited reconfigurability. Thanks for the tip, though!

  30. Hey, my system is still booting as it should, and my GNOME3 system status monitor does not display a capacity limit for /tmp/ anymore! This could mean that everything is working as planned, yay! I wonder if this means that I can actually use computers without breaking everything!
