@scoot I have two. Only this one works. Its also the SCPH-1001, which means it's the first model and has better audio circuitry than later versions.

@techdisk scratch that, it only activates the lights on the keyboard the button is pressed, but the effect applies to all keyboards. so you can have the light on for caps lock and not have caps lock on.

well that's interesting. Suse seems to be ignoring the indicator lights for the caps, scroll, and num lock keys.

@stardust Posting from Opensuse right now! Certainly liking it more than Ubuntu. For one, it doesn't overheat my computer, and for two i can actually disable the touchpad. XD

ok all you Linux geeks, whats the easiest way to set up a live USB to run openSUSE? I have no blank DVDs and i wanna try suse.

@mrmattimation actually, it's not all that recent. the drivers for my card, which Sony ever so slightly modified so i can't just download from the AMD website, hasn't been updated for at least a year or so, and i still get crashes almost immideately on old versions of MC. Its better than when i first got my laptop, where minecraft literally BSOD'd the entire computer.
