  7. I just realized the most important thing I lost when my computer died months ago. A completed floppy version of Babs Seed. That song took me FOREVER! GAHHHH

  8. I wish that DVI could carry audio.

  9. @zeldatra Yeah, that's it. I guess I didn't look hard enough. But it supports VGA and DVI, and you can use an extremely cheap unpowered adapter to convert from HDMI to DVI for the monitor. It's a really good monitor.

  10. @zeldatra 1440X900 is 16:10. That one is exactly the same size and resolution as my current monitor, except for the fact mine supports DVI. I would give you information on it, but since it's an OEM Dell monitor I can't find anything. (the product code is Dell S199WFP, if you somehow have more luck than me.) In terms of actual quality, I love this thing.

  11. @zeldatra ah, good. I was about to tear apart one of my own laptop keys to see if I could help.

  12. @techdisk EDIT: the bottom hooks in by sliding UPWARDS, then the top clicks down.

  13. you know what, screw it. I'ma check.

Sunday, 20-Jul-14 16:30:37 UTC from web
  14. @zeldatra Look closely, again referring to my keyboard, you need to slot the bottom of that part in by sliding downwards, and then click the top half down.

  15. @zeldatra You mean the little white peice that folds under the button? Make sure it's put in its place before you put the actual key back on. My laptop's keyboard is very unforgiving and that white part fit only one way out of a possible 4, or something, and it MUST be put in first.

  16. @techdisk (it's why I never remove any keyboard keys that are physically wider than a letter key. It never turns out well.)

  17. @zeldatra Shift keys usually have a metal bar associated with them. check to see that is correctly placed.

  18. @thelastgherkin damn son. mine's basically mint besides the leaked batteries and missing grill.

  19. @thelastgherkin ouch. looking at mine as refrence, That doesn't seem like it could be fixable.

  22. @thelastgherkin Ah. I never really liked him as a kid because driving him around made the hook on the front extend and retract, which made it diffucult to drive him around. Also his robot mode sucked.

  23. @scoot yeah, usually old computers had that option, either through an official module or actually going in and soldering.

Saturday, 19-Jul-14 19:59:55 UTC from web in context
  24. @scoot you probably had an upgraded RAM module or something.

Saturday, 19-Jul-14 19:57:40 UTC from web in context
  25. @scoot Wikipedia: "The Amiga 500 has a "trapdoor" slot on the underside for an upgrade of 512 kB of RAM. The extra RAM is classified as "fast" RAM, but is sometimes referred to as "slow" RAM since due to the design of the expansion bus it is actually on the chipset bus. Such upgrades usually include a battery-backed real-time clock. All versions of the A500 can have the additional RAM configured as Chip RAM by a simple hardware modification, which involves fitting a later model (8372A) Agnus chip. Likewise, all versions of the A500 can be upgraded to 2 MB Chip RAM by fitting the 8372B Agnus chip and adding additional memory."

  26. @scoot because... honestly I have no idea. Maybe they used the disk to hold other stuff, and you would be able to see that?

Saturday, 19-Jul-14 19:54:02 UTC from web in context
  27. @scoot Then why the heck did you they even have it.
