@l1ghtsword already have. My most important stuff is currently plugged into a power bar in my basement. Which is also currently switched off anyway. I'm talking about my much less important phone charger and tablet charger :P

@northernnarwhal yeah I've heard Klipsch are very, very good. Maybe I can trade in these very old broken cabinet speakers I have for some decent stuff. The cabinets are being used as a pair of small side tables right now anyway.

Speaking of vinyl records and CDs, I've heard from places that the reason people like the first version PS1 as a CD player so much is because it makes CDs almost sound like a vinyl record. And, honestly, its a good CD player regardless and if you want one you can get em for like 10 bucks, so it's not like you're hyping something that you would regret buying.

@northernnarwhal well considering the fact i'm going to be setting up that record player one way or another, i'll be needing records for it. but again, I don't think some altec lancing computer speakers are going to be even close to being good enough.

@northernnarwhal ah. I use a hacked iPod nano that supports every music file type known to man, so yeah. But even then I use MP3 for stuff because the iPod is only 2 gigs.

@northernnarwhal I don't think MP3 can ever be lossless. Only extremely high quality. I could be wrong, but I would need some sort of refrence.

@scribus My computer science teacher once taught me that a computer, when not physically broken, only ever does what it is told to do, and nothing else. If a computer does not do what you ask of it, either you have previously told it to do something differently, or someone else has told it to do something else. In your case, the workplace is probably screwing with things that shouldn't be screwed with.
