  1. @adiwan I live in a town with a super substantial population of middle-aged immigrants so most of them have no idea what Venmo is, they’ve been doing Western Union since the 90s so there’s no going back now

  2. That relatable moment when you have to spend 40 minutes on the phone with Western Union because one of your customers is a Russian national on an international sanctions list sending money to saboteurs in Ukraine

  5. Music to be Murdered By (the Eminem album, not the Alfred Hitchcock spoken word album of the same name on which it was based) is underrated as hell btw. Not every track on there is a winner but there’s way more winners than either Revival or Kamikaze.

  6. I’ve relistened to like, the entire Aftermath/Shady discography twice in the last two days, and it’s really weird how much Dr Dre’s albums feel like the bananain Avengers movies of rap music. No matter who he features, an Eminem album is an Eminem album and a 50 album is a 50 album, but Dre’s later two albums - ESPECIALLY 2001 - feel more stylistically like crossovers between his original Chronic brand and whoever’s featuring. Great example: “What’s the Difference” has that west coast g-funk production at the start, but by the time we get to Em’s verse it sounds like something you’d hear on the MMLP with the weird voices and sound effects and Fluffle Puff. It’s fun, I like it, but it’s weird

  16. @scribus the big disincentive to using Australia now, besides the emu uprising, is that it ruins a joke in Swole Foods. One script has a borderline senile old man recounting a battle he fought in Australia; with his senility being the joke. But then a script that’s placed later in the timeline has a character who works for the government mention the same event, making it more credible; a third script then finally reveals that in this universe, NATO fought an atomic war against Australia. I might just generically say “a country in the East” or something like that instead.

  18. Been a not-fun evening of combing through a 60-page script removing and replacing several references to a fictitious war with Russia. I don't feel like that sort of a plot element would be in great taste right now. It's really, genuinely heartbreaking what's going on in Ukraine right now and I don't want to contribute to any light being made of it.

  19. Elden Ring is very fun but it currently dips to about 20fps in the open world even on the lowest settings, I have a 3900X, an RTX 3070, and 32GB of RAM, so that’s unacceptable

  29. It kind of feels wrong to be doing a show set in Virginia that touches heavily on internet culture and not having a single Chris Chan reference (she’s from Henrico County) so I dropped a Sonichu license plate on one of the CGI vehicles. That’s about as far as I’m willing to go though considering recent circumstances
