That’s not to say I don’t think we should be more inclusive in our casting, I stand by that bit, we’re in the process of searching for a new voice for Mo on Swole Foods so that I can at least say we tried. So far only women are applying tho so I might have to end up doing it myself anyway.

To add to that, and to kind of walk back something I said the other day, Hank Azaria stepping down as Carl Carlson is not going to solve racism and I think all of the tv networks announcing they’re going to write out their POC characters at once is, and I think this is the first time I’ve ever said this words, virtue signaling and doesn’t address any real problems.

@scribus iirc the ruling was that government accounts (which includes Trump’s personal account, due to some records act that encompasses both his and Obama’s Twitter history) are public forums and therefore cannot block people, but PRIVATE political accounts are not. IE, the state party can block users because the party is not affiliated with the government, and “campaign accounts” (which most Reps tend to use instead of their office accounts) can do so as well.

I always feel like a huge hypocrite whenever I try to talk about inclusive casting because on Swole Foods we have a Japanese woman playing a Hispanic woman, a Hispanic guy playing a gay Muslim, that same Hispanic guy playing an Italian Canadian, and a British guy playing his father. I GUESS that’s inclusive??

every new cartoon I make is more and more needlessly technical. Right now I literally export every single character’s animation, and the backgrounds, into separate individual SWF files and layer everything in After Effects because I’m literally a psychopath.

Cops were called on one of my employees today. He’s autistic, so he makes a lot of noises when he’s alone and somebody heard and thought he was arguing with someone. Cops showed up, immediately decided the black kid was the reason they were here instead of trying to ask questions. Fortunately we were able to explain the situation before it got out of hand but god damn that cherryes me off.

Incidentally, despite the tremendous success that was Bob’s Burgers, I was told by a guy at Frederator that Fox was NOT a pitching option for workplace comedies for some reason. They hate workplace comedy over there. Bob’s Burgers apparently gets a pass because it focuses on the family unit.
