@scribus So... Weird Ed.
-
@scribus Then mine is Monkey Island's disk 22.

@zeldatra One can only wonder how a summation can be borked. I don't know but how much does it differ from the expected "shrinkage"?

Advantages of working from home: reading manga during a break, the bathroom is always available, pooping undisturbed

@scribus Ooof. Death threats are crossing all the lines.
-
@scribus Ah... Human trash talking bad about other people that justify their trashy behaviour.

In the process of getting rid of my PLA filament my dissatisfaction towards to PLA just rises. In the course of a larger batch the filament snapped three times.

@scribus The garden is full of bushes and other stuff. The owners planted a fir tree relatively in the middle and it has grown so big that there is barely any room left for anything else. The first thing that has to be done in that garden is to fell the tree. Also it is such a kind of fir tree that is not even beautiful and full. It looks more like a skeleton of a tree with more branches than needles.

I'm close to buying a house: my current offer is at 225.000€ for a 88m² house with 4 rooms, 163 m² parcel. However I have to do a ton of work there to get it to a state that is up to current standards, like the electric switch box, the bathrooms, windows... The garden is also more a jungle than habitable. I hope I won't regret it.
-
@zeldatra I might actually try that. It's probably 1000 times better than Fallout 4 VR

I remember why I don't 3D-print with PLA anymore. Currently I'm using up all my ancient (4-5 years old) opened spools. I'm printing a ton of dividers for my alphabetically and card type ordered Magic The Gathering cards because all my opened spools are in a way colored that somewhat match the card colors. I began it with green as it was a very unpleasant toxic green, then red, and now I'm at blue and yellow. The quality between all of them vary extremely. One spool is clogging all the time where as others print fine. Even then it's more or less a gamble. Currently I had to reduce the flow rate by 7% at one spool because of the pressure and swelling in the hotend. The spools are old but even when I had new spools I was very dissatisfied. Usually I print with PETG and it is more forgiving and consistent in my experience.

@chomper These days you can throw a stone and always hit one. The last one I saw was "Inside Job" on Netflix, mostly because it was produced by Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls) but it was sadly right in the valley of mediocrity because it went "adult" route and used unnecessary vulgarity.
-
@chomper It works for now. I was also surprised it wasn't blocked. I guess the user base is so low (and open source) that it doesn't make any difference.
-
@chomper To answer your question: No I have not put a single thought into either of one.
-
@chomper I get what you mean. I use the open source twitter client "choqok" https://choqok.kde.org/ on my Linux PC for following a few people and there I have no issues with ads or weird recommendations. I get what the people I follow post.

Dusted off my HTC Vive VR headset and played a bit of Beat Saber.
1st realization: I still can finish expert levels with at least A rank.
2nd realization: My favorite songs don't work anymore as the updates broke the mods.
3rd realization: It's too damn hot for physical exercise.Friday, 09-Jun-23 18:04:58 UTC from web -
I hope that "Judgment", "Lost Judgment", and "Like a Dragon: Ishin!" get a price cut soon. I'm a bit hyped for "Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name". I try to resist preordering it.

What I want to say: With enough time and a growing community eventually assholes emerge.

@chomper Welcome! There is no such thing as "healthy social media". There is only self-perpetuating ego boosting and unsocial people that characterize "unhealthy social media". We're here only a hand full of people active so both aspects are limited to relatively normal human behavior. Like a bunch of friends hanging out together. In the heights of RDN there were some drama llamas creating an unpleasant environment for a short while.

The biggest trap in"adult" animation is that it uses vulgarity and crass situations too often. It's easy to appeal to juvenile adults with "forbidden" stuff like violence and sexuality but the more lasting stuff are the more day-to-day real adult situations the characters have to deal with. These situations can be comical or otherwise but the basis has to be familiar and relatable and somewhat a base adult life experience. The earlier Simpsons seasons are one of the best as they are not flanderized to the extreme. Bob's Burgers is similar as most episodes deal with heightened but not completely unrealistic situations. I'm not against some violence but it can be grating and numbing and boring when it is used too often.

@scribus *fut*ure - *fut*ile.

@nerthos I can give it a try. My PC is scratching the minimum requirements with my Intel i7 5820K, Nvidia GTX 970, and 16 GB DDR4-2133 RAM.

@zeldatra I could swear I saw where to change the region in the google settings. Ad-hoc I can only see the help page for the Play store https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7431675?hl=en&sjid=2903081056934453095-EU

@zeldatra I think those prices contain VAT.

This week I went to a house viewing for a, at first, relatively affordable house. The house was from 1938. It turned out that almost nothing was done to the house since then, except for a gas heating system and a shower in the cellar (WTF). The windows with wooden frames were with almost 100 % certainty original. The cellar was so moist and damp it smelled like a swamp and the cellar walls looked like after a flooding. Also the doors were so low I could easily injure myself with an extremely minor hop. Also there was a wooden beam so low at the stairs that it demands wearing a hard hat. The main bath room was so small the sink was directly in front of the door and one has to squeeze by to get to the toilet. I've seen quite some houses but this was definitely one of the worst.
A friend of mine said to me that it was a mistake not getting the house.Sunday, 28-May-23 18:17:12 UTC from web -
I'd need to invest 410€ for playing TOTK (the game, Switch, Pro Controller (ain't gonna play on the minuscule Joycon controllers)).

@scribus She watched too much A-Team and pitied the fool.

@zeldatra Do like other great shows did: invent new dirty words! Battlestar Galactica used *frak* all the time. It's not about the word, it's all about the inflection. I believe the most innocent word can be turned into a swear word when it's used as a swear word long enough. Using adjacent words can be also a nice opportunity to widen the vocabulary.

@zeldatra It's the duck typing principle: If you walk an American and you talk like an American, then you're American. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duck_typing
