@scribus I own the first Elegoo Mars SLA 3D printer. It uses an array of UV LEDs that shines through an LCD that masks the areas that exposes the UV-curing resin. That is below the resin VAT that has a very sturdy, slightly flexible and transparent bottom. The actual model that is 3D-printed is attached to a parallel platform that moves up (and down) such that the exposed resin is at the defined layer height. Sadly it's not that cool-looking. It needs about an hour of print time until the printed model can be seen while printing. It's also a source of my anger as a failed print takes that time to be detected.

I don't like resin 3D-printing. It's so messy and slimy and gets everywhere.

Yesterday I was at the store at the bottle deposit machine where one has to insert the bottles in a hole that transports the bottles with a conveyor belt to the back side. A woman and her boyfriend were putting their bottles and cans into the machine and one can got "stuck". It probably moved on the conveyor belt such that the machine detected a fault. They were standing like idiots not knowing what to do. The can was pretty deep in the machine but the boyfriend had long enough arms to grab it himself. They even could call for help at the information desk just a few steps behind them. I offered my help and fixed their problem in half a second.

It took me two hours to replace a 2004 LCD screen for my Prusa MK3S. I *really* wished I had a vacuum desoldering iron. I had to flood all pins with solder and wiggle the pins out of the holes. At least the printer is operable again without guessing or extremely tilting the screen.

Oh man. I wish I had the space and the PC AND money for the Steam Frame. Although I haven't used my HTC Vive for ages I am highly intrigued to get my hands on the Steam Frame. Hopefully I get an opportunity at my job when it's released.

@scribus I don't mind being rich myself. HAHAHA. It would solve so many problems. Becoming rich without needing to be a dick is the only problem. The lottery is not feasible.

@scribus The CEO was probably a very good person and had not accumulated any bad will from anyone ever affected by them. /s

DM'ing sleep-deprived might be not such a bad idea. For once I had a shorter session but it a way better. It' so hard to make Hoard of the Dragon Queen turn good. I made my players retrieve a Dragon Mask from an auction by replacing with a fake. 100x better than what the book does with the masks.

The economy is a dumpster fire and we are all sitting in there.
-
@scribus Yeah. At this point a cheap thin client like a HP T630 could be considered as an alternative to a Raspberry Pi 4.
-
I don't understand the pricing of used Raspberry Pi. They either cost exactly as much as new or they cost even more. All I want is to connect my 3D printers to my network as cheap as possible.
-
@scribus I've seen American Psycho, Phone Booth, Bladerunner 2049, and Morbius. So my count is the same. Morbius was the only film I deliberately watched to see Leto and even my pretty low expectations were somehow challenged by his bizzarre acting. Besides that everyone was idiotic in that film.

Also the sign looks like a bad 3D render on the photo because of the cloudy sky and the plastic being extremely matte as it can be.

My house shares a path with other houses and at the beginning is a pole for signs. There was a sign showing which house numbers the houses have, however years ago it was vandalized and only a sliver of the sign remained. I removed the broken sign and replaced it with a 3D-printed a new one that has raised numbers https://i.imgur.com/5y0PEkC.jpeg I did separate prints and glued them together. The top sign says "Private path: Enter on your own risk!" because it's a typical sign in Germany for whenever the maintainer of the non-public path doesn't want to be liable for damages and injuries when it's slippery due to snow or rain. Maybe I take the time and remove the "Kill your local ANTIFA" sticker that's also years old.

The awkward feeling when the CAD model is minimally but noticeably different to the real thing due to a mismeasurement. I almost completed the 10'' mini server rack but the side panels have a 2.5mm gap. Could be worse. I'm reprinting them and in 18 hours and 250g filament later it's fixed.

It hurts twice that stomach aches are preventing me from playing D&D with my friends. It's not really a good idea DMing being compromised by pain.

@scribus I'd probably say that there is not enough food for the volunteers to give out.

Got my new tyres today. Thankfully the tyre shop offered to change the wheels for free and it took only 10 minutes instead of me doing it alone in an hour.

I have a sample size of 2 out of 2 but something is strange. I bought two yogurts from two different brands and both of them are more watery than usual. Even the Skyr I bought recently has the same problem. I feel and it's not a flub and they are getting worse in quality and it's making me angry.

@scribus About 18 years ago I had to do mandatory military service but I opted to do community service at a nursing home instead. There I saw a guy, 40 years of age, completely devastated by a stroke and unable to speak and barely move. Freshly graduating school that was shocking to see.
-
Today I was at the tyre shop in order to buy a pair of new tyres because one of them got sliced at the curb when I was making space for an ambulance. It cost me about 300€

@scribus WTF
-
@scribus Best system bought with money (by the lobbyists).
-
I'm fed up with so called "hobby knives". They are constantly getting loose as the tightening nut wiggles loose and potentially get out and hurt me. I have bought medical scalpels that hold the blade a lot firmer and have no chance to twist out of their grip. Also the medical scalpels don't roll off the table, which is a huge plus in safety. I don't even know why hobby knives are so poor in quality even though the alternative isn't even much more expensive and yet far sturdier. Only changing blades is a little bit trickier but that's it.

@scribus If the programs also were on screen this would be hell. I don't want to stare at Richard Stallman's face every time I use GNU Compiler Collection (GCC).

Imagine file type names always have the name of the main implementer's family name. Instead of GIF it'd be Wilhite. People sending Whilite's to each other for entertainment.
-
It's the same problem as with people names. Some cultures have the family name first, some last, some are totally mixed up (like in Iceland with (<calling name> <father's name>(<son>|<dottir>))-pattern).

@scribus You can find solace in that alternative universe Scribus finds our way unsettling too.
-
In an alternative universe file extensions aren't at the end but at the beginning, like instead of "picture.jpg" it's "jpg.picture".

@zeldatra Cool costume! The knife guy from before has to be one of those strange sujimon.
