@scribus What's actually interesting about FFVI is that holistically it doesn't have a single main protagonist, and Terra is only really the center of the narrative for the first half while the second half devotes more focus to Celes.

@northernnarwhal There's a lot that's interesting about FFVI, but yeah, the strength of pretty much every character but Umaro is high up on the list. :p

@scribus It's definitely my favourite Final Fantasy game, if solely because I felt it has the strongest writing and characters the series has seen. Not that I dislike the overt worldbuilding narratives of later games, but I felt the more non-linear and character driven narrative of FFVI to be all the more compelling.

@bluejaygames The HVAC field is expanding, and I figured I would be better off spending two years at a technical college as opposed to spending the better part of a decade studying life science or law at a university/law school (I could end up with a mortgage-sized student loan and no relevant job after graduation).

Pixel artists: what pre-made palettes do you use? or, if you make your own, how do you develop your palettes?

@caret7 The palettes used in pixel art depend heavily on things like the style you're going for, the size of the image, whether you're doing a landscape or a figure, etc. The only real suggestion I can give is limiting yourself to 3-4 shades for a color is generally a good starting point to avoid overshading. Check out the rendering limitations for various old consoles and base your palettes on those.
