@moonman @acuteanniemay Ironically I saw it on RDN and I just went *lolpalm* ( which is like a combination of lol and facepalm ) for I am sure whoever wrote this just got a few anti brony articles applied a potato masher :+
-
@moonman I figured you were already a player.
-
@adiwan Oh hell yes !
Also I did not take you for a Rick & Morty fan -
@mushi There are 2 things I am sensing here. Firstly, relax, there is no way that VR gaming will become bigger than traditional gaming with a monitor/tv/viewscreen. Well at least not until computers become powerfull enough to make something like a virtual reality desktop become both comfy and easy. Which probably will not happen for a long long while.
And you are confusing "popular" with "serious". I mean, skydiving is popular right now, doesn't mean that everyone who can strap on a parachute will try it.
A lot of people have a computer at home for things like taxes, official documents, and whatnot, so why not game on it ?. That is a cornerstone of the PC's power, and doing taxes with a virtual reality headset ? I do not see that happening untill we are FAR FAR into the future, or the living costs of a bigger house start to outweigh the space you would need for a monitor...
The future will be fun :) -
@pennyfortheguy I'd buy a car from Hillary Clinton. Mostly because the law partially covers material exchanges goods for money/service transactions, and because cars tend to burn longer compared to university degrees.
-
@mushi Haha, well the WiiMote was a success actually, and then Sony and Microsoft had to create their own version. And I do not think anyone could ever unironicaly defend those things ( http://imgur.com/QG3T2kd ). Think about it, the Wii sold billions mostly because of that gimmick ( but mostly because it just worked right, and you could do things with it like bowling, and people know bowling, so they could just pick it up and play )
VR technology on the other hand. Oculus ( now FaceBook ) was dumping tonnes of money into it and mayhaps took too long perfecting it, now the competition has ran off with similar idea's. Just like with the Motion Controller idea actually. Does that mean it will inevitably go away ? I hope not, VR is a kickass experience. Kinda like your first roller coaster ride ( *wink wink* )
However, the biggest difference between the above seems to be that Oculus/FaceBook is actively trying to poison it's own well. Which is weird. -
@mushi What does the end have to do with VR headsets being dumped on used-product sites ? From what I am seeing most people are either dumping their DK 1 or 2 because they got a real headset, and some are outright selling their CV. ( DK being Development Kit, and CV being Consumer Version ). I am very very confident that VR games will become a new status quo. Not sure how long it will take them though.
-
It is beginning, people are dumping their VR headsets on used-products websites en masse.
-
Oh wow, obviously Wolf Blitzer really loves the word "obviously"... obviously...

@shadowboltmoon In the great wide world of AR games there is one software developer called Niantic whom has created 2 games up till now. The first one is called Ingress and long story short, you pick a team ( blue or green ), walk up to a portal, hack it for items, and throw down a mini-building known as a resonator to capture it for your team. There is a limit of how much resonators you can put on there ( depending on your level, and the level of the resonator ), and the resonators on the portal make up the (tech) level of the portal. It takes 1 person at max level to create a lvl 5 portal, 2 people to make a level 6 portal, 3 to make a level 7, and 8 to make a level 8 ( max ) portal. Since L8 resonators mostly drop from level 8 portals you can probably immagine they do not grow on trees. And because the opposite team keeps destroying them I am always pinching for L8 resonators. As such, when I heard that in PoGo the pokemon left at gyms worked like resonators, I worried.
-
@redenchilada Oh good, that is way better. I read something somewhere that you put them pokemon down in a gym just like how you put down a single L8 Resonator in Ingress. And long story short, I am ALWAYS hurting for L8 resonators since the enemy team keeps blowing them up. That had me a little bit worried right there.
-
@mushi Yeah, I know how that feels. I also really REALLY want to play that game. Enough to want to sideload it, then again I just looked at Niantic's track record when it comes to banning people... Not gonna risk it.
-
I have just been reading up on Pokemon Go. Can anyone explain to me what happens to your pokemon you have left at a gym gets taken over by the opposite team ? ( I mean, that is the only actual question I have left )
-
@ceruleanspark ... ( no words ) (( < except those ones )) ((( < and those ))) ...
-
@mushi We do not need another Harambe :(
-
@redenchilada Yes there is. It is called "you have the coolest mom ever !". Which probably isn't a problem, Unless if she randomly runs away when there are hot things on the stove.
-
@mrmattimation YES !
-
@adiwan http://imgur.com/a/UqSbL ... Oh, oh my ... Well I sort of expected that, though if I had to vote I would first have a long and hard thought about it. I mean, there are a ton of examples as to why I think Hillary Clinton would be terrible.
-
@adiwan What is the chance of Trump actually doing something about the electoral system ? And where did you do that quiz ?
-
Oh lordielordie, why does a 64km ( 64 divided by 1.6 = 40 miles ) take 3 hours with public transportation ? That is like 21.3 kmph ( 13.4 miles per hour ). I could just about beat that with my bicycle. Not that I am going to now, I'm returning from a mini vacation and my body is just short of wasted.
-
I am coping with a difficult question right now. You see, I am part of a council for the embodyment of client-rights in the WMO-system. And I am on a somewhat impromptu mini vacation with friends right now. Now we do have somewhat significant pull/weight when it comes down to client rights and the upcoming agenda contains some really heavy stuff. Now I just got word that the biggest friend and likeminded person when it comes to this council also just left for an impromptu vacation. Soo, should I cut my vacation short by about half just because I fear that the management waltzes over the remainder of the council ?
-
@broniebrown thanks for actually recommending that I should buy "I hate fairyland". It was great. Sort of a weird ending though.
-
@scribus I believe I saw that in https://youtu.be/twuzqSIBlaA
-
@thelastgherkin well, to be honest, even if that baby was dropped on his/her head a couple of times ( kinda hard to find sources you know ) he/she will probably have an easier time saying where he/she came from. "Ball pit" is way easier to prenounce than "Potato Knishes" after all
-
Survived a forgein bed, stillwoke up too early with a headache :(. all my friends seem still asleep. Guess I'll just go soak up sunrays in a near meditative state for a while. Though this forrest is so full of sounds, It'll be hard ... ... ... HOLY ! ... A bird flew into me as I'm typing
-
Trying to fall asleep in my friend's families vacation house... Feels like my body is rejecting trying to fall asleep :s . so weird.
-
I'm in a vacation house by the beach with 2 of my friends ( and a sister ... )... And we just drove out to the civilized world to get supplies/grocerirs when it hit us when we saw the near empty parking lot. It is Sunday, everything is closed. Now waiting for pizza, and making it seems to takrle forPotato Knishesingever. ... My belly rumbles !
-
@dolus I am not really sure how I feel about any of it. On one hand it is absolutely rediculous that farmers have to jump through hoops to continue their livelyhood when their machine breaks down. But on the other hand, if you were to replace the word "farmer" with "obnoxious starbucks sipping artist who uses a Mac"... ... ... I guess what I am saying is that I really like to see a cascade effect of such magnitude after farmers are allowed to repair their own machinery :D
-
@thelastgherkin *thinks about it* ... Oh hey I am concrete spunk myself. Cus I am really spunky, but hardier than most :D
