@pawnheart This too, is something I do not get. If I do love a character, I want him/her to be happy. I want them to earn their happiness and that happiness does not need to be absolute. Darkness makes every beam of light even more precious - but if there is no light, there is only suffering and if I read it I suffer with the characters...

I feel like I'm kind of falling apart. I don't know if I'm burned out or what. I "finished" my therapy course but I don't really feel like it made any difference. Meditation doesn't help as much as it used to, and I feel like my medication doesn't work properly anymore either. I feel almost compelled to take more than I should do, and I carry the box around with me habitually because I don't feel safe without it. I feel pretty fixated on suicide too. I don't know that I'd actually do it, but thinking about it is some kind of perverse comfort to me.

@nerthos there's nothing wrong with self-aggrandizement, which I feel is what crossdressing would essentially be for me, but at what cost? I feel stuck between a rock and a hard spot with this.

@pony At what cost? The cost is changing your marriage from a psychological jail to an actual relationship, or if she cares too little for you to let go her stubborness, helping yourself avoid eventual depression and health issues by getting rid of it.
