  2. Tanimura and Shinada are in the “probably not” category since they don’t have Dragon Engine models so I would have to convert them and all of their animations from Y4 and Y5. Tanimura would be easier than Shinada since iirc Sayama reuses his moveset in Kiwami 2 but neither would be very easy.

  4. It’ll be tedious as hell but probably I will separate them—Haruka, Yagami+Kaito, and Akiyama—as individual mods, then also include one all-in-one package with just everybody. That seems to make the most sense to me.

  5. The larger in scope this mod becomes the harder it becomes to organize. I’ve thought about splitting it into several, one for each character added, but the problem with that is every character in the game is stored in the same bin file, every ability the same, every outfit the same, etc. so at the end of the process I would still need to manually merge everything together into one package or else you won’t be able to use anyone together because the mod loader only load in the highest priority character

  10. Kaito never enters a building in Lost Judgment that requires him to take off his shoes. I learned this when his feet suddenly disappeared after I entered a shrine in Infinite Wealth.

Also Yagami (and Kaito’s) entries in the party database seem to genuinely stem from RGG just adding protagonists sequentially with each new game going back to Yakuza 6; Kiryu is 1, Majima is 2, Yagami is 3, Ichiban is 4, and his yakuza 7 party + Masumi Arakawa fills out the remainder before we suddenly start getting LJ side characters; seems the ones who follow you around worked internally like Y7’s party members even though most of them don’t ever join you in combat.

  21. while digging in the files i fixed a weird and mildly infuriating inconsistency where Nanba's full name is never written anywhere, in the UI or otherwise. Turns out the reason for this is because RGG literally just didn't write it down in the party.bin file. Everyone else's full name is there except for Nanba.

  27. There was a Scooby Doo movie a few years back that included a lengthy scene where they intercut a conversation with computer generated shots of the Mystery Machine moving through traffic and that was kind of goofy but at least there was TRAFFIC

  29. it always bugs me in animated shows when car scenes involve two characters talking to each other for a minute or more with no stops, no traffic, barely a passing car, just moving in a straight line while the CGI equivalent of a Flintstones background passes behind them. Add an intersection somewhere. Goddamn.
