Wrote a terminal program for creating playlists. It does the job but could be more streamlined and not yet ready to automatically create playlists for all albums. Right now I can specify a folder and grabs all its files and assembles them to a m3u playlist. To my dismay my mp3 player ignores the #EXTINF tag when listing the tracks. Instead it shows the whole path, which makes it harder to see the track name.

Due to my FiiO X1 MP3 player not being able to scan the whole SD-card to generate the music database I have to resort to manually creating playlists. I need it as the file structure of many folders has subfolders for each disc. The worst thing is that when I open the .m3u playlist generated by VLC the player only accepts the paths to the files only as absolute paths and there cannot be any "HTML"-coded strings like %20 for a space character. I guess I have to write my own little program to automate it a bit as all solutions I saw involved using a program and doing manual edits anyway.

Watched "Uncle from another world" and the last season of "Beastars" on Netflix. Honestly Uncle from another world was way more enjoyable than Beastars.

I'd like to extract the 3d models of Nancy and Olivia so I can 3d print them and display them. Of course I'd have to paint them too.

The HDMI to VGA adapter I ordered DOES NOT WORK. UUUUGH. Reading reviews for all the adapters doesn't fill me with confidence. Most of them seem have to have a high likelihood not work either.

I'm astonished in a way that 32-bit is still supported by Linux

I put out my EEE PC 1000H out of the mothballs for testing the monitor. I wanted to update it but I faced a myriad of package conflicts and other annoyances. It has nothing important on it, so I have to resort to reinstall the whole system anew. If it's the Windows way why wouldn't it work for Linux?

Found an old TFT monitor at the curb. It's a Benq T71W from 2007. It has only VGA, 17'', and the controls are busted. I cannot open the display menu or turn it off. Otherwise it works. I don't know what to make with that.

Been watching the anime Dandadan. It is surely strange but intriguing. The first episodes have a HUGE turn off and I can't blame anyone jumping off. Also the visuals look both impressing and confusing. Especially the action scenes get disorientating very fast. Otherwise in terms of story it is not so bad, at least for now.

To my surprise my MP3 player (FiiO X1) is about as expensive in the second hand market as it was when I bought it new. Here and there there are cheaper ones but I guess even iPod classic clones retain some value. I wouldn't buy it again. It has some serious performance limitations. I put so much music on it that it can't scan all files to build the database. Since I have it I'm still happy with it although I haven't used it for a long time. Firstly because I didn't need it but also I haven't found it for almost two years because it was lost in one of my boxes. I found it this week by accident and intent to use it again, especially in the car and going out in general. I am even upgrading the SD card from 128gb to 512gb. That upgrade is basically free as Amazon has screwed up my order for that SD card.

Winter depression and being overworked is torture. Wake up: tired. Work: tired: After work: really tired. Going to bed: not so tired.

The one time I had a half-baked idea to get it out and make it useful again and it dies on me.

I dug up my old HTC Desire Z from a box from the move. I guess it is cooked. It was stuck in a boot loop at first but then it just vibrates 7 times when I have the USB cable for charging. Also the charging light doesn't light up. I guess it can't get any more dead

Dang it. I received my ESP8266 with a ready-to-go IR sender and receiver module. Somehow the IR emitters are borked as they are constantly on. Either I did something wrong soldering the pins or the module itself is kaputt. I have no nerves to desolder them today. I already was annoyed by finding an IR receiver library that automatically works with my TV remote so I can read the codes. At least I got the UI up and running.

Live-action How To Train Your Dragon is as pointless as those Disney remakes. The HTTYD trailer looks very generic and has no charm. Even the music in the teaser trailer is bland as stale bread. The only highlight was the hint of John Powell's original at the end. On that point the only hope is that there could be some dope new tracks.

I haven't sworn this much for a long time. The code of my predecessor was the equivalent of the most vile stinking excrement anyone could think of. It took me two days to debug and completely dismember and write it completely anew. The variable names were schizophrenic and the functions were multiple screens long, contained functionally ineffective and crash-worthy code. On top of that it used reflection and oh boy it is a pain to extract type and property infos and values and it's not as obvious on the first glance which type it should reflect and which values it has.

Watched Squid Game for the first time. Was good. Maybe it was a little bit too over-hyped when it came out.

12 hour work days effed me up. I'll probably sleep through the whole weekend.

I guess I listened too much Final Fantasy music recently. On youtube I found amazing Japanese people who play incredibly well on an electric organ called "electone". Like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_-HKoUO9ow and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cvF6OvobbA and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWqOo6kPuJY

@metaltao Ah nice! Landscape photos are always welcome. One could think you wanted to upload boob pictures (just kidding, I'm not interested, just an edgy comment for the sake to create a laugh).

My curse: being intelligent enough how and why something is wrong and could be better but not intelligent enough to actually do it myself.

I'm thinking about digging up my ESP8266 micro controllers and creating a web-interface-controlled TV remote. Why? I dunno.
