@ladestitute I think what would be possible to do is: you can make an array of all the skills (Just assign all of the skills with a certain number, as to their position in the array, and store experience like that... Or, what you can also do is assign a separate field for each skill, and have a separate method updating the experience... I don't know Construct 2, so I'm just telling you how I'd do it if I were to do it in Java.

@the20percent Yes, C2 has arrays. Not so much how I would handle it event/coding wise, but gameplay wise.

To speak up about this, I'm doing some game development work as I said. Minti helped me yesterday with handling an unsigned integer overflow problem, but I'm not sure how I want to handle the exp/leveling system. While one part of me wants to go a traditional tried and true method of simple "get enough exp", some of the game's community suggested some unconventional ideas such as EXP that could go into equipment, or skill points/weapon upgrading via a point/skill point system. I just want to find a compremise.

You know what's great about John de Lancie coming to BronyCon? For those two con days, he could easily just roll out of bed, put half of his pajamas and half of his normal clothes on, roll out of his hotel (literally), jump on a bus, switch shoes with someone else and take a tie, get off of the bus at the Expo, show up, AAAAAAAAAAND not only would he be showered by brony love BY THE THOUSANDS, but everypony will /praise/ him for "being in character". #likeaboss

@ladestitute I have a love/hate relation with Notch at the moment. He's amazing and an interesting fellow but, he sometimes takes stuff a little too ... un-serious? I admit, it's a great attitude to have and Mojang is amazing but, there's lines. (Bethesda lawsuit I'm looking at you.)

@minti He is maturing though, both as a person, head of the company, and coder. I did find it was a good move that he stepped down for Tobias, even in maturity. But, I feel Notch is refreshing, as most game companies are all business no play when it comes to their own staff/company.

@ponydude In the truth of the matter: Java is the type of coding language where it's easy to pickup for beginners, but for even experienced coders like Notch, difficult to master and learn completely like a map.

@getacutiemark It's actually for a fantasy RPG with Chao as the primary sentient race. There's also a secondary window I have yet to create a mockup, but consists of the following stats: EXP (Mostly their own sections of current/next level EXP for Melee, Ranged, and Sorcery), Chaoin (the currency), Melee (a generlization of the player's melee skills), Ranged (a generalization of the player's ranged/bow skills), Sorcery (a generalization of the player's magic skills), DEF (determines hwo much physical damage they take), INT (determines the strength of their magic attacks, but I'm debating hiding it like the hidden stat Luck), and SPR (Spirit, determines how much magic damage they take). You can also press F3 to show your current x/y co-ords, and current FPS. For the level at the top, I'm borrowing a page from Runescape by calculating top level by combining the levels of all other stats

@ladestitute Possibly. Try increasing character height/width by 4px.

@ladestitute The size that works for it will depend entirely on where it's used. Just try to make sure it fits with whatever it's placed next to.
