re:that last bullet, i think the push for inclusivity is broadly good because it's a life simulator and i think the more inclusive games like this are, the better, but it seems like they use inclusivity as an all-encompassing shield to stymy criticism when their updates come out half-baked and even broken. this most recent update breaks the aging system beyond repair, removes most whims in exchange for wants and fears that cover exclusively the base game and the latest expansion pack, and somehow bungled relationship checks so now my sims wanna papaya their brothers. but hey, they've added a sexuality system that probably should've been in there seven years ago eight years after release, so all is forgiven, we can move on to The Sims 4: Need for Speed, which finally adds (a) car (which cannot be used outside of its specialized map)

The Sims 4's release cycle:
-New expansion pack announced, big promises of exciting change to the game
-New pack comes out, it's super broken and promised content is underwhelming.
-Radio silence.
-"Hi simmers, we are aware of..."
-patch making Bella Goth gay
-silence & repeat.

I Google pictures of the highways in Los Angeles County sometimes so I don’t feel as bad about bad traffic where I live.

The store I’ve been at for the last year is actually next door to the site where the expansion is supposed to end. It was built in anticipation of that with the hope that we’ll get a lot of commuter business. That was in 2006.

It’s unfortunate that we now will never be able to do our hour long Virginia Is For Lovers crossover event where Chris Chan and the guy who shot Reagan help the Swole Foods gang prevent the dimensional merge.

I’ve been transferred to a new store closer to DC for my new promotion starting on Sunday and I gotta say: now that I have to deal with the traffic repercussions, I firmly believe that all construction on the metro line should immediately be halted as not having to stop for construction workers would shave ten minutes off my drive easily.

Steven Universe costs ten real dollars so I haven’t played him yet.

The biggest problem I have with the game is that it feels really slow and floaty, like slower than Brawl even. Don’t fight any Tasmanian Devil players, just turn the game off if you see one of them.

MultiVersus is okay. Wonder Woman is probably the easiest character to play, either her or Superman. Garnet is fun. Harley Quinn can’t recover from falls so if you spend a lot of time in the air she’s worthless. Finn is kind of fun. Every LeBron James player is trash but LeBron himself is pretty fun.

Like, the government literally started the transition procedures back then. Mike Pence was getting ready to take the oath of office. Today, we’re putting him on Tylenol and aspirin. Come on.

Seeing a disturbing, but not shocking, number of people in the media looking at Biden’s COVID diagnosis this week, which has caused him to have a runny nose and a cough, and then looking at Trump’s diagnosis in October of 2020, pre-vaccine, with a case so severe he was hospitalized and put on oxygen, and saying “these are exactly the same thing”.

If George Lucas still had any control over Star Wars, the original trilogy would’ve had about five extra re-releases by now replacing random background characters with Temuera Morrison.

The Sims 4 is 8 years old. You've be forgiven for not realizing that, because the game wasn't worth playing until like year 6

Opening Disney+ and seeing Deadpool on the front page is making me wonder what exactly the point is of keeping Disney+ and Hulu as separate services anymore.

Many of Frisk’s lines in the later Twin Souls episodes, and this continues into Part 5 with Gaster and Kris, are composed of two, three, or even sometimes four takes edited together. In the line “I like cheese and crackers”, the words “cheese” “and” and “crackers” might all come from separate takes. It’s just a fact of pre-recorded presentation that this stuff happens. Certainly not everybody does it like that - Eminem, for example, tends to perform entire verses in a single take even as other vocalists make copious use of sentence mixing - but when you’re the President of the United States and you have to address the nation and you have the luxury of releasing pre-recorded material, yeah, you’re gonna second guess every word you’re saying as you’re saying it and try to make changes. The dunk online seems to be “he’s dumb and can’t talk” rather than “what he is saying is wrong”, which it was, which hurts the argument.

This isn’t a criticism, just an observation: based on that last J6th hearing, Donald Trump records presidential addresses the same way I record dialogue. Get through some of it, decide I don’t like what I have written in the script, improvise something else or change a word, punch it in, and keep going. I’m not sure what the point of showing that was.
