I hope no actual Virginians watch Swole Foods because I don’t want to get called out on the fact that the setting has the word “city” in the name but is probably not a city because of the way cities work in Virginia. A city elsewhere in the US is called a town in Virginia and many towns in Virginia are more populous than cities which are often pretty small. Cities are functionally the same as, and therefore politically independent from, counties, which gets even more confusing. The City of Fairfax is an enclave of Fairfax County, and they’re both functionally counties. It dates back to Reconstruction or something like that.

I could just model generic-looking sedans and use those for everything but I like that level of detail. I have a list right here of fictitious brand names for vehicles among other things. The cars will all have readable license plates, there'll be manufacturer badging on the back and grilles of the cars, all that fun stuff. Unnecessary but if I'm gonna be using these models over and over again I might as well pack them with details so they're interesting to look at.

annoyingly, for Swole Foods I have to design a new police car 3D model from scratch instead of using the one I've already got for The Twin Souls, for geographic accuracy. Over in Denver, they use (or at least did, in 2016) Crown Victorias and mountain-ready SUVs, so I modeled a Crown Victoria expy. Here in Virginia, most localities use Dodge Chargers, which I will tbf have to model eventually, AND the state troopers use these weird, ugly-looking Ford Taurus-type cars, AND in Northern Virginia occasionally you'll see Capitol Police around because congressmen live here and apparently that means that they have jurisdiction here??? Those guys use Crown Vics. So I can at least just texture-swap that. But I'm gonna have to model the other two from scratch.

Have been with Frederator (Adventure Time, Fairly OddParents, Bravest Warriors, FilmCow, etc. etc.) for about six years now and I’m honestly shocked the company hasn’t been bought by one of these megacorporations yet.

Sometimes I still think about how I almost signed a contract with a Disney-owned MCN but then backed out because I didn’t like the revenue split that was proposed.

Disney is looking to buy DC (comics, not the federal district) and honestly that’s... fine. Disney and AT&T are two of the biggest entertainment companies in the world. You’re just trading assets between functional monopolies at that point.

Went through and unsubscribed from each and every one of my recurring emails and now my email is usable again for the first time in five years

We USED to get this one lady who would steal really expensive HBC items and return them with her “receipts” which she had collected from other people’s garbage cans, but when Covid started we had to briefly stop accepting refunds because we didn’t know yet if surface transmission was a big deal or not. She never came back because of that.

Writers should all aspire to write like Dan Houser and DJ Pooh did on San Andreas:

1: Mission giver doing something completely random and unrelated to the rest of the scene
2: CJ walks in, asks what's going on
3: He doesn't get an explanation.
4: Instead, he is given a completely unreasonable task, often involving committing terroristic acts
5: "For sho', man, anything for the homies! :)"
6: Cutscene ends, mission ensues
