  1. Today at the flea market was frustrating. Everywhere I looked FIFA games. One seller had all FIFA games from 2006 onwards to 2015. I don't understand the dedication for this.

  2. @drinkingpony I have a soft spot for the film. I cannot help myself. Probably you have some films that are not very excelling but you like them nonetheless.

  3. @drinkingpony Solo was good. It just had the misfortune to be released so close to The Last Jedi and had its reviews affect Solo. Solo had issues but it was fun and I enjoyed it.

  4. @drinkingpony It was an Amazon Marketplace item and only shipped by Amazon. So I had to contact the seller first and the seller had two days to reply. I waited a few days longer and contacted Amazon and they solved it immediately.

  5. Aaaaand my CNC is dead. It coughed up magic smoke. A resistor blew up while trying to troubleshoot the problem of the non-moving and squealing Z Axis. It turned out to be a coil that squealed. The motor was conveniently behind the mainboard so I misinterpreted that as a faulty motor. I bought stepper motors for nothing. I can reuse them for something else. Like making a 3D printer from scratch but it won't be anytime soon.
I contacted Amazon support and they offer a refund. So I bought a new one. The marketplace seller was uncooperative and didn't answered after a week of silence.
I just ordered a replacement that is slightly cheaper from another seller.

  6. @drinkingpony Haha. No death ray. The most perplexing fact is that it was sent on October 30th. A few days ago, from China via express shipment. I looked at my bank account and nothing was out of the expected. The last thing I ordered from China were 3D printer board (that I've received) and a plushie for a relative's birthday (that I've also received). The customs office letter says that I have to bring a bill, purchase contract, or something that verifies its value and transaction. If I do nothing until the end of next week it'll be sent back. My curiosity is big enough to go to the customs office and see what it is.

  7. Just got mail from the customs office for an item I can't remember. I tried to cross reference with my emails with the given shipper information but I cannot find what it is exactly. In the content description are only vague notes like "PCB" or "Development Board" but so far I got everything I ordered.

  9. Tried watching "Hazbin Hotel" but I turned off the video after 8 minutes. As much as I appreciate the hard work it does not resonate with me. Up to that time it was as "hyperactive" as the internet and that turned me off. There was always something happening without any second to take a breath.

  10. Because of a man vandalizing a church door a long time ago I have today a holiday, which conveniently extends my vacation by one day.

  11. The popcorn I bough is the worst. About 1/5th of all kernels don't pop. It was even more expensive than the popcorn I usually bought.

  12. @drinkingpony I'm staying at home and play with my toys (CNC router, 3D printers, videogames) and do some recreational programming.

  14. @drinkingpony I'm already extremely heated. Having a smacktalk might push me over the edge. Whatever. I have a month of vacation and don't want to think about work anymore.

  16. Today I had a "F you" moment with a colleague and his developed domain specific modeling language. In my opinion it's a programming language in disguise and not a purely descriptive language. I showed him a flaw at one point but he argued vehemently that the flaw can be ignored. But in the editor the usage was allowed as well as in the documentation (that feature that caused the flaw was only mentioned in passing, and the documentation as a whole is poorly managed). After my vacation I will insist on switching to another project.

  18. Just ordered a 5er set of stepper motors. Double the price of only one stepper motor but I will have enough to replace in any case something happens, even in a total meltdown. Also they are compatible with my 3d printers.

  19. @drinkingpony It's a standard Nema 17 1.3 A, 12V stepper motor connected via a coupler to the Z axis lead screw. It's replaceable but still very annoying to the point of making me angry.

  20. I'm super angry right now. I want to play with my CNC router and it stopped working. To be precise the Z axis motor stopped working. It squeals and doesn't move. I checked the cable by swapping it with the X axis and it has the same symptoms. I contacted the seller and I demand a replacement.

  26. @drinkingpony I ordered a Samsung Tab A T510N 10.1'' tablet. It has only 2GB RAM but looks decent enough. There are plenty cheaper tablets from manufacturers I don't know but I'm not willing to risk it. Because I'm using my tablet every day when I wake up and go to sleep I don't want to have something janky. So I also don't want to flash a custom ROM that has not all the functionality (i.e. flashing a cheaper Amazon tablet). I could get the cheapest Amazon tablet again but it was not ideal when it comes to sideloading. It worked but they crashed regularly. Also 7'' was too small for me. I could live with that as long as it did but using Youtube (90% what I've used) the buttons were too small. Usually I don't mind buying used electronics but in the case of a full-screen and glued-in battery device I'm super hesitant. I don't want to look at scratches.

  27. Argh! My tablet died. It doesn't turn on. It struggled in the last few days as it spontaneously turned itself off. It was an Amazon Fire HD 7 (7th gen). I'll probably buy a non-Amazon tablet because sideloading is a pain and I'd like to have more RAM on the device.
