@scribus Ubuntu is dead to me. I rather use Gentoo and compile everything myself than use Ubuntu ever again.
-
With all the crazy stuff happening, maybe this year can be the year of the Linux Desktop!
-
@scribus I saw a video about the last Blockbuster end of last year and I haven't noticed any Pokémon Snap photo printing stations.
-
New Pokémon Snap? I'm gladly waiting for all the reviews. Especially I'm waiting for all the reviewers and people bashing it for being too repetitive, short, and unoriginal. The N64 game can be played through within a few hours, and even then there was barely any varying gameplay beyond gushing over 3-dimensional Pokémon jumping around and abusing them with throwables. I expect the new one being similar in scope feature-wise. The right evolution of the game has to be at least a semi-open world with day-and-night cycles and a focus on stealth and exploration, like a real animal and nature photographer.

I am Fluffle Puffed off by the whole entirety of Season 5 and 6 of Community. Left a very bad taste in my metaphorical mouth.

I give up printing mechanically precise "big" parts with my SLA 3D printer. The shrinkage and warping is insane, as well as all the cleaning and post-curing procedure. All that for a holder for my new hotend for my FDM printer. When I finished that I buy a spool of ASA and redo that.

I wonder if there will be an increased birth rate in about half a year. Covid-babies.

@tiff Finished Season 5 today and it was a stinker. I'm mid-season 6 and it ain't better.

Digital warehousing: The website said that there were 14 items available on location, none were on location.

@mrmattimation Who cares how they look like? As long as they perform and have good thermals for a reasonable price it's all nice and dandy. Also those leaks are nVidia's own design, and all other manufacturers can implement their own solution. Most of the time the card is in a PC case and in my case there is no window in my case, so looks are totally irrellevant.

90% before the end the resin has been depleted and I didn't notice. I should have put a lot more into the vat. ARGH!

@scribus my thoughts boil down to "pretty OK". If you enjoy the meta-ness of Rick & Morty you'll appreciate it also in Community. I have the series mostly as background noise while I browse the Internet and for that purpose it's great. While The Office was more grounded in its world Community puts up a notch into the absurd. That doesn't work every time but not that much that it breaks the enjoyment. However the main character Jeff's behaviour can be very grating, as well some others. I'm at episode 20 and so far I'm willing to keep it going.
-
Started binge-watching Community. Before I have never watched more than a few episodes.

To be fair: The 3D printer I bought was as cheap as it could reasonably be with the feature set it has. So it is not a huge feat to excel that price.

I hope the new hotend I ordered for my 3D printer will solve all my problems I currently have. It's about the same price as the printer itself. Currently my problem is that the hotend doesn't melt the plastics fast and consistent enough, as well as heat that creeps up the filament path and gets soft at the wrong time and thus causes small clogs and extruder motor skipping and some filament grinding. Also with the new hotend I can print with more exotic materials like nylon or ASA, as it can also reach temperatures up to 450°C. Super exciting. My current one would release neurotoxins at any temperature above 260°C as it is lined until the end with a PTFE tube.

When I was shopping I was under the impression I needed to buy toilet paper. Now I have so much that it will last until the end of the year. My TP stash was in a closet and they were out of sight and thus also out of mind.

OMG. My idiot neighbours just pumped up a bounce castle and about 20 children are playing (also 20 adults standing next to it).

Never update your PC before going to sleep, especially when a package (or multiple packages) take extremely long. The whole LaTeX texlive suite takes an eternity to extract and configure.

Paid back my student loan in one swoop. I hadn't much debt, so it was easy enough.

I really appreciate the amount of different kinds of bread that are sold in Germany but I've never been so disappointed as in the mustard crust bread that I've bought recently. Just from the name it was so promising but the end result that touched my mouth was so mediocre bland in a bad way. So much so that the hints of mustard are distracting and not enriching the whole eating experience.

I have one not well-working stepper motor (it doesn't have the power of its prime) and I'm thinking of building a polishing machine, more exactly https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3666116 or even more exactly this remix https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4230298 due to the different glass size.

@scribus no I haven't. I'm not watching the news a lot. This is quite ridiculous and hilarious

@mrmattimation For decades a lot of countries have voting by mail. There are real world numbers how insignificant the frauds are. Also not giving people the opportunity to vote is soooo democratic.

I cannot understand the weird fascination of customers and manufacturers for wireless airbuds.

@scribus sucky seven, aching eight, nefarious nine, treacherous ten, eldrich eleven, tormenting twelve, thrashing thirteen, fatal fourteen, fingering fifteen, smooching sixteen, scandalous seventeen, edgy eighteen...

@scribus I'd say every age is terrible, just in a different way.

@scribus From the sounds I receive it's a probable explanation. The trampling sounds transfer through the walls up such that I can hear them and my floor is swinging with the trampling giving me some unpleasant proto-seasickness.
