Hearing about a big, nationally syndicated comic getting pulled from newspapers nationwide because its creator is a racist, going to see what it was, and then seeing that it was Dilbert was genuinely funnier than any strip of Dilbert. Laughed out papayaing loud.

On my new MacBook Pro, editing 4K video in Adobe Premiere is faster than it is on my 12 core desktop computer because of the magical M2 chip that most Adobe products are now optimized for. But in Adobe Animate, which is comparatively lower tech and runs 10x better than anything else on my desktop, I get insane frame drops when I try to play back my 720p source files. What gives, Adobe/Apple?

I quit sleeping pills, which I developed an addiction to in 2019 when my depression got really bad, a little under a year ago during my first trip to the UK. I started taking them again in August after getting transferred to my new store but I’ve been a good boy since around October and I think I’ve finally kicked them for good. We’ll see how this year goes I guess.

Hogwarts Legacy got off pretty lucky. As a game, it is a broken unplayable mess that is probably going to brick your Xbox, but because the series creator is an unhinged lunatic who belongs in an asylum for the terminally crazy, most people are focusing on that instead. I’m pretty sure Warner Bros could’ve shipped a tech demo with two spells and a test map for $60 and the conversation around it would still revolve around JK Rowling’s transphobic ravings instead. I feel for the devs who have to deal with the venom that she’s injected her own IP with, but on the other hand, if the game had released in this state and JK Rowling was an inoffensive media darling, they’d probably be in a lot of cherry right now. As it stands she’s taken all the heat off of them.

One of the other script treatments I have here is a spoof of gangster movies, if anybody tries to tell me the mob wouldn’t work with a Hispanic like Kat I’m gonna point them to my grandmother’s first husband who was a Puerto Rican immigrant that worked for the mob up in NYC back in the 70s and 80s.

One of the script treatments I’m writing as part of this series pitch is a spoof of supernatural media & part of me wonders, supposing I had to stay on the web, how difficult/expensive it’d be to get Nerf Herder to perform a cover of the Swole Foods theme song for that one. Definitely one of my production fantasies.

I personally do not believe purchasing the new Harry Potter game makes people transphobic or that it actually makes much of a difference to this extraordinarily wealthy dirtbag or whatever - no ethical consumption and all that - but instead of debating the negative impact of such a purchase, I wanted to instead focus on making a positive impact.
