12 hours debugging yesterday was harsh. In the end it turned out that the package we debugged had an old .dll. If we updated the .dll with the newest version the bugs had been fixed in there.

I become as tired and cynical as a 70 year old man. I only need a piece of lawn for yelling at (young) people.

@vernandex I am fed up by people doing the thing that perpetuates the current situation. Instead of getting it under control it is getting worse. I want it to be over but doing the opposite is madness.
-
Saying Covid is over is not the same as Covid being actually over. Ignoring facts doesn't help. It makes things worse. I'm disgusted.
-
@mushi A friend of mine uses Julia for his work. Personally I don't like it very much as it reminds me of Matlab and I dislike Matlab very much. Cannot help you there
-
I feel like the frequency of moments where I make a sound of disgust towards the world increases.

Not even in my dreams I own real estate because I cannot even afford these.

I got my 4th vaccine injection. The vaccination center was literally empty. I had no waiting time. It took me 5 minutes from entering to exiting the facility, including the little bit of paperwork. Last time in December it looked way different where I had to wait half an hour in line and further 30 minutes for the injection and paperwork.

Oh... great... I haven't expected this *sarcasm*. The Covid cases doubled in the last few days. I wonder what happened... The easing on the restrictions are probably not the cause *sarcasm*.

Ugh... Project Adam on Netflix was as cookie-cutter of a movie as a cookie-cutter movie can be. Not bad but predictive boring which itself is bad.

@zeldatra Fun fact: You can find Nazi connections in almost every big German company's history that is old enough it existed during World War 2. Volkswagen, Siemens, Bosch, several steelworks...

I haven't gamed in a long time. I finished Celeste. It was good and really really hard. It was also really hard on my thumbs.

Germany has a toilet-paper-shortage-like event. People buy cooking oil and flour like crazy. Firstly it's because of fear that there will be a shortage as Russia was a big supplier of those and secondly some of these are used for donations for Ukraine. I'm just glad I already had sufficient cooking oil before that.

@ceruleanspark How the game has been received by the public it could have been a c*** ring.

The spammers evolved. They only repeat other people's messages. Nobody wants to gamble on sports bets.

@zeldatra Probably a translation error on their behalf.... hahaha... hahaha... ha... ha...
-
@zeldatra It's surprising that people actually use Western Union. And if they do it is probably not legitimate. I always associate it as a service to send money to scammers or other fraudsters.

@scribus My bad. I don't want to put poutine's name in vain. I just looked up how it is pronounced https://translate.google.com/?sl=auto&tl=de&text=%D0%9F%D1%83%D1%82%D0%B8%D0%BD&op=translate It appears to sound more like "poot yen"

@zeldatra Don't lower yourself to poo teen standards. Putin doesn't deserve your balls.

Putin or more like Poo-Teen

It's always funny to create hotfixes for a productive system. Even funnier when two problems were very closely related to each other and two hotfixes in closes succession were deployed, whereas the first hotfix should have dealt with the second problem too.
This problem occurred because of poor input quality.
For example on my end I expected boolean value true and the string value "True" to be not equal. However I had to bend over backwards with my code to allow the equality check of booleans and strings in a manner that the example here returns a positive result on the equality check.Friday, 25-Feb-22 10:55:43 UTC from web -
@mushi It appears to be some kind of overcomplicated and poorly thought out catfishing phishing.

Oof... It was hard to DM. Haven't done any DM-ing for over a year. Of course I roll extremely poorly and my players have the rolls of their life. I've designed some cool encounters but they have killed it with their strategy and more importantly their luck.
I created a "cheese festival" and the players had to roll cheese wheels on a track against an NPC group, where almost all actions were allowed (except for magically transporting the cheese wheels and killing anyone with certain (like disintegration)). On round 1 a player used a Hypnotic Pattern spell on the NPC group, everybody failed their saves specatularly, and the race was effectively done. Even my attempts using some of the public to wake up the NPC group was undone multiple times and blocked by critical intimidation.Monday, 21-Feb-22 08:33:02 UTC from web -
@zeldatra WTF. It always appeared to me that the Malcolm In The Middle episode where Malcolm lived secretly in a store (and an adult man was also living there) was more unreal than real.

I'm searching for a new pair of headphones. Some of the over ear and open kind. I ABSOLUTELY hate that the majority of products in the headphones category is bluetooth. What a piece of worthless trash. I intent to use my headphones 10 hours a day, 5 days a week. I don't want to be crippled by a dying battery and be bothered with charging. Also I'm somewhat sensitive to processing delay.

@scribus I believe that I'll be quite unhappy with a phone from a niche manufacturer. TCL's Blackberry phones are the minimum quality I expect and that one does not fill me with confidence. Also I don't want a fold-out keyboard. At max I can live with a slider style or whatever the HTC Desire Z was.
-
I think I can remove the idea out of my head to get a proper keyboard smartphone ever again. I guess the next upgrade will be a soulless slab. I guess also it'll be a Google Pixel or similar with a reasonably good outlook for software updates.
